Real Madrid Transfer News: Major Rumours on Rafa Benitez's Summer Plans
Sergio Ramos appears to be edging ever closer to a move away from Real Madrid.
According to J.L. Calderon of Marca, the Spaniard is adamant in his desire to depart the Bernabeu for pastures new. Per the report:
"This is no hot-headed decision, but rather one that has been meditated, and... is irrevocable.
...It's not a matter of negotiating for more money; the player needs a different scene, to make a fresh start somewhere else. The salary squabbles might have been the beginning of his thoughts to look for pastures new, but that is no longer an issue for the defender.
...
His mind is made up. He wants out.
"
Bleacher Report's own Sam Tighe does not believe the defender will depart Madrid in the summer:
However, if Ramos' relationship with the Real hierarchy has broken down to such an irreparable state, a move does not seem so unrealistic.
Further, according to the Telegraph, a Spanish newspaper conducted a poll among Los Blancos fans, with 55 per cent voting in favour of the centre-back's sale.
The 29-year-old has long been linked with a move to Manchester United, who have had two bids for Ramos rejected according to the Telegraph's report.
Ramos is a significant upgrade on United's largely mediocre defensive options, and with the Spaniard approaching 30, a move sooner rather than later would be best for the Red Devils.
There's sure to be plenty of twists and turns yet to come in the Ramos transfer saga, and it's unlikely to be resolved any time soon.
Expect the situation to rumble on for a large part of the summer, but don't be surprised if Ramos does end up at Old Trafford next season.
Lazio Desperate to Keep Lucas Biglia
Lazio are attempting to ward off Real from signing midfielder Lucas Biglia by setting a huge asking price.

According to Luca Gunby of Forza Italian Football, Italian newspaper Il Messaggero are reporting that club president Claudio Lotito is adamant Biglia will not be sold for less than €50 million, with Lazio prepared to offer the Argentinian a large, lucrative deal to keep him with the club.
As WhoScored note, the 29-year-old is an accomplished passer and a standout defensive midfielder in Serie A.
Biglia's range of passing and the solidity he brings would make him an excellent replacement for Sami Khedira.
However, a fee of more than £35 million would appear somewhat steep for a player of Biglia's age.
While Real are not short of money to spend in the transfer market, at that price Los Blancos would be better served pursuing a younger player who can strengthen their midfield.
Rafa Benitez may test Lotito's resolve with a bid closer to £20 million, but if the president is true to his word, then expect the midfielder to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
