It's been a wild ride through 54 holes of the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, and the final round is poised to deliver an epic showdown between some of golf's top stars.

World No. 2 Jordan Spieth is four-under par and will aim to win his second major in a row after claiming the Masters earlier this year, but he won't have it easy. The 21-year-old phenom is in a dead heat with the big-hitting Dustin Johnson, resilient Jason Day and consistent Branden Grace. They're chased by four players at one-under par including a surging Louis Oosthuizen, who is coming off of two consecutive rounds of 66.

Chambers Bay hasn't been the most popular U.S. Open course, as it has been drawing mixed reviews from the tournament's participants throughout the week, but it has provided a level playing field and produced many compelling moments through three rounds. We can only expect things to intensify on Sunday.

As we anxiously await the final chapter in the year's second major, let's take a look at the updated leaderboard, tee times for contending players on Day 4 and Sunday's full schedule.

Saturday Recap

Perhaps the most remarkable story from Saturday's action was the resilience of Day. After collapsing on the ninth hole the day before and receiving a diagnosis of vertigo, he returned to action and produced a phenomenal round of golf that resulted in a two-under 68 and a share of the lead.

Day started slowly, bogeying two of his first four holes, but he steadied himself to par out the front nine for a two-over 37. He quickly turned the tide of his round on the back side with a brilliant approach to the No. 10 green that left him with a kick-in birdie. Another birdie at the par-three 15th brought him back to level for the day, but he wasn't done yet.

On the par-three 17th, Day's tee shot came to rest 17 feet from the pin, and one smooth stroke was all it took to rattle the hole for yet another birdie. After finding the rough off the tee on the par-five 18th, Day hit back out to the fairway and then buried his approach six feet from the hole for yet another birdie to close out his round.

Following Saturday's action, Day shared his thoughts during a press conference, via Bob Harig of ESPN.com:

"

I didn't feel that great coming out early and then felt like—I felt pretty groggy on the front nine just from the drugs that I had in my system, then kind of flushed that out on the back nine. But then it kind of came back. The vertigo came back a little bit on the 13th tee box, and then felt nauseous all day. I started shaking on 16 tee box and then just tried to get it in, really. Just wanted to get it in.

"

We can only speculate what kind of a round Day would have put together had he not been experiencing those symptoms throughout. If he's feeling any better for Sunday, he'll have a great chance to claim his first major title.

Spieth's third round didn't look pretty on the scorecard, as the Masters champion put together a one-over 71; however, he displayed his unflappable maturity in the face of adversity once again and showed why he's capable of winning many more major championships in the process.

After a turbulent front nine that included three birdies and four bogeys, and watching a three-stroke lead dwindle away before his very eyes, Spieth continued to gut out his round and wouldn't collapse from the pressure like we've seen so many golfers do in the past.

He overcame hitting just seven fairways on the day with some nice iron play, but he was tested on the greens, as his usually reliable putting stroke couldn't seem to find the mark and several short putts were missed as a result. Still, Spieth continued to go through his routines and played the final seven holes of the day in one under par.

That's what makes him so scary—he never seems to fold under pressure. While he may not have a great deal of momentum heading into Sunday's round, he was tested by the enigmatic Chambers Bay and emerged with a share of the lead. With the final round poised to heap plenty of pressure on all of the leaders, you have to like Spieth's chances in that situation.

Following an opening-round 65, Johnson hasn't produced much consistency at Chambers Bay, shooting a 71 on Friday and a 70 on Saturday. The long-hitter has been brilliant off the tee, and he hit every fairway in the third round; however, he only managed to hit 12 greens in regulation and took a total of 32 putts. Those aspects of his game must improve before Sunday—hitting the ball a long way will only get him so far.

Grace has been very consistent through three rounds, and that was the case again Saturday, as he paired three bogeys with three birdies for an even-par 70. He hasn't been stellar off the tee, but he's made up for it with some good iron play and scrambling ability. The South African's biggest test will be sharing the Sunday spotlight with some of golf's biggest stars.
