U.S. Open Tee Times 2015: Pairings and Predictions for Saturday Schedule
The play is getting better, and the field is getting smaller after the second round of the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington.
With the top 60 and ties making it to the weekend, pairing will be reset for Saturday's third round. Here is the current leaderboard after Friday's play:
Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed lead the tournament going into Saturday at five under, but they hear plenty of footsteps behind him after a big Friday from Branden Grace, who sits one stroke back with Dustin Johnson at four under.

Spieth has a share of the lead after shooting a three-under on Friday to put him at five under overall. Starting on the back nine, he birdied four of his first eight holes before a double bogey on 18. He came right back with a birdie on one and finished with another after bogeying seven.
While he was below-average hitting his fairways at roughly 68 percent, he hit his greens at a 75 percent mark. If he continues to hit his greens at that rate, missing a fairway occasionally won't hurt. But if there is any dip in those marks, he will have a tough time staying atop the leaderboard.
Spieth told ESPN that he is expecting plenty of close calls this weekend:
"It's playing different. And I'm in a very different position. I'm not going to have a five-shot lead. So given it's a U.S. Open, I imagine they're going to try to bring us back to par. ... So I'll draw some on Augusta, but at the same time, my patience level has to be even that much higher.
"
Reed overcame six bogeys on the day to go one under on the afternoon. A double eagle on 12 put him at seven under, but he bogeyed on three of his final five holes to bring him back down to a share of the lead.
While he has been consistent hitting his fairways and greens, sporadic holes at Chambers Bay will not provide a winner. But if history repeats itself, as Fox Sports' Shane Bacon points out, then this weekend will be a memorable one, especially now that they are paired together; the two will tee off at 5:50 p.m. ET:
Johnson had a chance to build his lead. He was two under on his way to the 14th hole, until he bogeyed three of his final four to go one over on the day and sink to second place.
His green and fairway play decreased significantly from the first day. He hit only 61 percent of his greens on Friday compared to 78 percent the day before and 64 percent of fairways compared to 79 in the first round.
He'll be paired with Branden Grace, who used an eagle on a par-five eighth to shoot a three-under on the day. A small dip in his fairway and green numbers were cancelled out by a solid putting day.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Grace had never shot under par in eight previous U.S. Open rounds.
Prediction
Spieth is going to grab a two-stroke lead by shooting three-under on the day, putting him at eight-under overall. As ESPN Stats & Info indicates, he's a veteran, despite his young age:
Spieth's raw talent that helped him jump out in front of yet another major has been on full display, and the maturity he showed as he closed out a Masters win leaves no doubt the majority of his accolades remain in front of him.
Johnson will keep close, shooting two under on the day and won't be making too many moves unless he can straighten out his fairway play. He even told Bill Dwyer of the Los Angeles Times that for any chance of success, "you can't really overpower this course. It helps to hit it long, but only if you also hit it straight."
For Reed, he will stay right with the pack, shooting even on the day as he will feed off his pairing with Spieth. ESPN.com's Jason Sobel knows of Reed's ability to play with his partner.
Chambers Bay certainly has become a wild course. It will be up to one of these three to tame it in order to take home the U.S. Open title.
