Arsenal Transfer News: Petr Cech Wants Move as Paris Saint-Germain Rumours Swirl
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech wants a move to Arsenal, according to his agent, but a potential switch across London could be destroyed by the ambitions of Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Darren Lewis and Adrian Kajumba of the Mirror, PSG "are trying to tempt Petr Cech to join them rather than Arsenal with a staggering £39 million contract." This would include £150,000-per-week wages on a five-year deal.
Christophe Lollichon, the player's mentor, believes Cech has his heart set on remaining in the English capital. He spoke to RMC (h/t Jeremy Wilson of the Telegraph):

"His family like England. A player is happy when his family is happy. He wants to stay in England, but I don't know where are the discussions. The Premier League is his primary objective. But it will also depends on the conditions.
The advantage is that Arsenal is a top club, with a philosophy that pleases him and that is in London. It is a base for consideration. I think that Manchester United like (Hugo) Lloris.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has made no qualms about suggesting he doesn't want Cech to move to a Premier League club: "For me, decision number one, Petr will stay," he said, reported by David Hytner of the Guardian. "After that, second point, to go but not in England."
Cech made just six Premier League starts for the champions during the 2014-15 campaign. The 33-year-old was relegated to almost exclusively being a cup goalkeeper, such is the quality on offer from youngster Thibaut Courtois. Cech could easily accept a place on the Chelsea bench until he decides to hang up his gloves, but he's a far more competitive spirit than that.

He would waltz into Arsenal's starting lineup, batting away the competition of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny. PSG have the often criticised but quality Salvatore Sirigu in-between the sticks, a player who is more than capable of winning points when playing well.
Cech will fancy his chances of regaining first-team football no matter where he ends up, even if he decides to travel across the Channel.
