According to Neil Macdonald of the Liverpool Echo, 12,000 runners from 52 different countries took part in Sunday's extravaganza along the banks of Liverpool's waterfront.
Starting from Albert Dock, participants rounded some of the city's most famous landmarks, including Goodison Park and Anfield, respective homes to Premier League giants Everton and Liverpool.

The course then diverted southward around Sefton Park and toward Otterspool Promenade before coming down along the River Mersey, making for the finish line at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
Members of the public were joined by a host of recognisable faces for the festivities, with Sky News correspondent Enda Brady among those taking part, managing a very respectable time to boot:
Hope's finish puts him up there with the elite of the road-running world, not far from the kind of times managed by those competing in the London Marathon and other races of that standard.
Jonathan Humphries of the Liverpool Echo snapped a photo of Sunday's champion after he'd had a chance to cool off, deservedly beaming with his medal in tow:
Awaiting all runners at the arena finish line was live music and more entertainment, bringing the city of Liverpool under one roof in what was a terrific day's action.
It was only right that the accomplishment of those fastest runners got recognised, too, as the podium finishers in both men and women's categories were paraded on stage:
Along with the full-course run, Liverpool laid on a variety of distance races beforehand, including one-mile, five-kilometre and half-marathon events.
