NBA Mock Draft 2015: Latest Predictions for Top Prospects as Finals Continue
While LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers look to pull off a shocker against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, the upcoming draft continues to barrel down the tracks like a locomotive.
There's no such thing as a settled stock market when it comes to the draft, not these days, with so much widespread access to information and scouting departments hard at work right until the pick goes final.
With the above in mind, there's never a bad time to digest a mock based on need and the ever-changing stock market, especially with the globe's attention elsewhere.

Highlighting 1st Round's Best Fits
Cameron Payne-Oklahoma City Thunder

When it comes to some of the best potential fits that align with need and the shifts of the market, this one seems obvious.
Murray State's Cameron Payne didn't blow away the globe in the Big Dance as a sophomore because the decision-makers decided the Racers weren't good enough, but he did average 20.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game and shoot 46 percent from the floor.
The potential fit with the Oklahoma City Thunder isn't new, as a note by Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders captures:
It's not one to just become outdated, either.
The Thunder don't have much of anything behind Russell Westbrook, with D.J. Augustin averaging only 7.3 points last year and starting running mate Dion Waiters finishing sixth on the team in scoring average.
Payne fixes a lot of these problems. He can come in and score off the ball right away, but to top it all off, he can even lead the offense and create his own shots or get others involved.
Justise Winslow-Orlando Magic
In a quiet manner, the Orlando Magic tout one of the league's top budding rosters thanks to smart drafting in recent years, with the surge led by Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo.
The front office needs to continue to build the roster and patch holes, though, especially with star forward Tobias Harris on his way to free agency, where teams with more cash to throw around figure to make major offers.
The team can rest easy, though—Justise Winslow should be available. As a freshman, the Duke product averaged 12.6 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 42 percent from deep.
In doing so, he flashed elite potential that scouts continue to rave about, as one tells ESPN.com's Chard Ford:
"You're drafting Winslow based more on what kind of kid and player he is and less on a particular basketball skill. And you're hoping the skill part comes based on his work ethic. It reminds me of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist a few years ago. The intangibles are outweighing some red flags on his game.
"
Potential is the name of the rebuilding strategy for the Magic, so Winslow becomes an obvious choice if he's on the board.
Winslow's ceiling isn't easy to see because it's so high, and he'll benefit the most from playing with a team like Orlando, where he'll receive a wealth of playing time right out of the gates and mesh with a young roster in the process.
Karl-Anthony Towns-Los Angeles Lakers

If one goes by the general consensus, there doesn't seem to be any chance Karl-Anthony Towns falls to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The draft process is a beautiful thing, isn't it?
Nobody knows for sure what any team will do in the draft, especially not now during what qualifies as smokescreen season, so the thought that Towns falls just one slot isn't so outlandish.
The Lakers need him to fall, too.
Folks know about Towns. He posted averages of 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks last year and can impact the pro game on both ends of the court right away. They also know how bad the Lakers were last year and understand that moving forward, the team can't get away with Robert Sacre and others next to Julius Randle in the low post.
As general manager Mitch Kupchak told Serena Winters of Lakers Nation, though, Towns is a tough man to get in touch with:
It's not the end of the world, Lakers faithful.
Towns is the perfect prospect for the Lakers, and there's no question it's a great locale for him. There, he would get to play alongside another top-five Kentucky selection and soak up the credit for kicking the rebuild into high gear.
Both sides just need the team with the first pick to look elsewhere.
