Stanley Cup Schedule 2015: Lightning vs. Blackhawks Game 4 TV Info, Predictions

Joe PantornoJun 10, 2015

For the third time this postseason, the Tampa Bay Lightning have turned around a 0-1 deficit after taking two straight games against the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2015 Stanley Cup Final.

In a series where unknowns have become household names and the game's biggest stars have been held in check, Game 4 stays in Chicago as the Blackhawks look to level the series.

History does not favor the Blackhawks, however. Teams that have won Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on the road, like the Lightning did, are 13-0 all-time.

Live Stream: NBC Sports Live Extra

Who wins: Chicago 5-3. Here's why.

Time to wake up by splitting up

So far it has been a series to forget for superstars Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Steven Stamkos. Toews has one point this series and Kane has none for the Blackhawks. Stamkos is point-less as well for the Lightning.

With 98 goals combined during the regular season, it is only a matter of time before they start lighting the lamp. While Stamkos has received more help from his supporting cast, Kane and Toews have shown that their team's offensive success relies mostly on their shoulders.

With anemic numbers to start, the Blackhawks cannot win the Stanley Cup while they play together as they did in Games 1 and 2.

Though they lost Game 3, the Chicago offense was clicking much better than it had in the prior two. And the split has continued, according to NHL Network's Mark Roe.

Having a game to adjust to life apart, expect Kane and Toews to start going in Game 4 at home.

Glove side weak side

Ben Bishop has been a stone wall in goal for the Lightning on the road, with an 8-3 record and a goals-against average of 1.50.

Yet for the third time in these playoffs, Bishop was beaten glove side with a shot that he got a good amount of glove on. All of Tampa Bay's opponents have found trouble beating the goalie on the road, and the Blackhawks will have those same problems for Game 4.

But the book will be out about Bishop's glove problems, so expect Chicago to start getting a lot of bodies in front and start throwing pucks at the net towards that side.

Dominant with nothing to show...yet

There was a stretch during the first period of Game 3 where the Blackhawks outshot the Lightning 16-0 yet only managed a single goal to tie the game—something that Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago looked upon as a turning point:

"

Oh, the Blackhawks had some glorious opportunities and they definitely had the Lightning and Bishop on the robes. Marian Hossa looked skyward after missing a gaping net – he was tripped up on the play. Teuvo Teravainen missed just wide on another open net. "That was too bad, because we created so much pressure, so many shots," Hossa said of the first. 'I think we missed two empty-netters, so definitely that hurts a little bit."

"

While that might be a testament to the play of Bishop, there is a feeling that it is just a question of how long floodgates can hold until they'll break.

Backs against the wall, there will be spells of action that Chicago will largely dominate again in Game 4. Yes, there has been trouble leaving the Blackhawks defensive zone and their puck movement has looked lethargic as the Lightning have skated circles around them, but this is where experience will come in.

It is yet to be proven how many hits the Lightning can withstand without Chicago's pressure finally getting to them, but they can't hold on too long if 16-0 shot domination becomes a repeating trend.
