Frank Mir: Out Of The Frying Pan and Into The Fire
Many would thing that Frank Mir should thank his lucky stars for surviving his last fight.
Mir was nearly beaten senseless by his one time victim, Brock Lesnar in their Heavyweight Championship fight.
Both men had bragged of being in the best shape of their life, though in this meeting Lesnar proved to be the superior force.
Frank was pretty puffed up from having beaten Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira to get the chance to fight for the HW belt. Now,however, his balloon is being deflated by the news that Big Nog was in fact, not in good health when he fought with Frank.
"Excuses!" Frank is not big on them and is not happy that one of his most famous matches is being erased by the doubt that his accomplishment meant anything in the big world of heavyweight fighting.
Next up for Frank was to be the big French fighter, Cheick Kongo.
Now, after the rumor mill has been grinding out the news of the real reason Mir beat Nog, an argument is being made for a rematch.
Since Cheick Kongo is a huge and brutal fighter, One could wonder which is the lesser of two evils, a fight with him, or a rematch with a healthier and fully recovered Nogueira.
UFC 107 is being offered as the date of the nest competition between Frank and Big Nog.
Surely Mir will go along with the UFC's wishes and fight whoever the bosses want him too.
My opinion is that either option sounds like quite a difficult battle for Mr. Mir.
As my Grandmother used to say, looks like he jumped "out of the frying pan and into the fire."
What a predicament.
