Lightning vs. Blackhawks: Game 3 Date, Live Stream Schedule, Start Time and Pick

Joseph ZuckerJun 7, 2015

The Tampa Bay Lightning may have tied up the 2015 Stanley Cup Final, but they now head to the United Center for the next two games of the series.

Whereas the Lightning took their collective foot off the gas after going ahead in Game 1, they were forced to come out of their shell a bit more on Saturday night. Tampa Bay needed four goals to extinguish the Chicago Blackhawks, with Jason Garrison's power-play tally in the third period the difference between the two teams.

So far, the series has more than lived up to the hype, as neither team looks to be head and shoulders better than the other.

Maybe Tampa Bay or Chicago will put its foot down a little more in Game 3.

One of the more odd—and potentially impactful—developments in Game 2 was an injury/illness to Ben Bishop. He played 50 minutes and 33 seconds of the game, coming off the ice on several occasions for unknown reasons.

Lightning coach Jon Cooper refused to answer any questions regarding Bishop's status after the game, per Stephen Whyno of the Canadian Press:

Andrei Vasilevskiy was the next man up, and he didn't engender much faith among Lightning fans, as this ESPN Stats & Info tweet would attest:

Until Tampa Bay reveals more information about Bishop's illness, injury or whatever it is, it's impossible to say how much the Lightning could be affected. Maybe he'll be back to 100 percent for Game 3. Who knows?

What you can say without question is that Bishop has been a key member of the Lightning so far in the playoffs. Some of his performances from earlier rounds left a lot to be desired, but when the 28-year-old is confident and on top of the game, he gives his team a tremendous goaltender.

A more encouraging development was the fact Tyler Johnson ended his scoring drought. He hadn't registered a goal in his previous five games. In order to win this series, Tampa Bay will need Johnson not necessarily scoring in every game but certainly playing better than he has been lately.

On the other side, the Blackhawks shouldn't feel too upset after Saturday's defeat. They still took one game on the road and can take control of the series on home ice. If Chicago wins both Games 3 and 4, then that might be the Stanley Cup Final right there.

You also have to wonder how the game might have unfolded had Corey Crawford stopped what was a completely preventable goal from Johnson that put the Blackhawks down 3-2.

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville was blunt with his assessment of Crawford's performance, per Puck Daddy's Greg Wyshynski:

Bleacher Report's Dave Lozo was a little more critical of Crawford:

On the whole, though, Chicago didn't play much worse than it did in Game 1. It restricted Tampa Bay to just two shots in the final period. One of those shots just so happened to turn into a go-ahead goal.

If you had to tip the scales in favor of one team so far in the series, then the Blackhawks might get the slim edge.

In front of what will be a raucous home crowd in Game 3, they'll go a game up on Tampa Bay.

Prediction: Chicago 3, Tampa Bay 2
