Cavaliers vs. Warriors: Live Stream Schedule, Spread and Pre-Game 2 Comments

Joe PantornoJun 7, 2015

There are two very different demeanors in the two camps of the 2015 NBA Finals. With the Golden State Warrior's 108-100 overtime victory in Game 1, a tightly-knit group looks ready to make a serious push for the team's first title since 1975.

On the other side sit the Cleveland Cavaliers—a team that suffered a demoralizing defeat and lost one of its best players in Kyrie Irving with a left knee injury.

Odds Shark is projecting the Warriors as eight-point favorites for the series' second game on Sunday.

But nothing is settled on paper. This is, of course, why they play the games, and the Cavaliers have a chance to knot the series up going back to Cleveland. Here's what to look for in Game 2.

Just Like Old Times

The NBA playoffs have chewed up and spit out the Cavaliers' Big Three, which have now been reduced to one.

With Kevin Love dislocating his shoulder against the Celtics and Irving fracturing his left kneecap in Game 1 against Golden State, it all comes down to LeBron James.

Wait, we've seen this before.

For all the pomp and circumstance, for all the wheeling and dealing for Love, the Cavaliers have been beaten back down into a one-man show circa 2007.

LeBron is the greatest basketball player in the world, though, and if there was one player many would choose to carry a team, it'd be King James. While the odds are stacked against him, James seems to be zeroing in on his objective, as he told reporters:

"

There are a few things that you would love to have going late in the season. That's being healthy, having a great rhythm, and then you need a little luck as well.

We've had a great rhythm. We haven't had much luck, and we haven't been healthy. But I haven't gotten discouraged. I understand the moment that I'm in, and I'm not too much worried about the game. I'm worried about the moment. I'm happy with the moment. I'm excited to be in this moment once again, and I'm going to stay strong for my team, no matter who is or is not in the lineup.

"

After a 44-point effort in Game 1, it looks like James is all set to take the reins.

Kerr the Genius

Steve Kerr had a decision to make in the offseason: Chase the bright lights and grandeur of Manhattan to coach the New York Knicks or go slightly smaller to take charge of a team that hasn't played for a championship in 40 years.

He made the right choice.

While the Knicks played for ping-pong balls, Kerr catapulted the Warriors to new heights and is now looking for his sixth career championship ring. Kerr won three with the Bulls and two with the Spurs from 1996-99 and 2003 as a player.

Winning No. 6 would put him in elite company, tying him for 10th all-time with the likes of Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Scottie Pippen and Bob Cousy.

Curry and Company

While LeBron will have to go at it alone, league MVP Stephen Curry has led a depth-laden offense that has been nearly impossible to stop.

Curry is leading the Warriors by averaging 29 points per game during the playoffs, with a three-point field-goal percentage almost as efficient as his marks from inside the arc (43.4 percent from three, 46.3 from the field).

To add support, Klay Thompsonthe other "Splash Brother"has averaged 19.8 points per game with shooting marks just a few percentage points off Curry's.

The draft class of 2012 is providing some big minutes as an alternative to Thompson and Curry. Draymond Green has developed his game to a point where he is a threat both inside and outside the paint. He is averaging a double-double of 13.9 points and 10.5 rebounds in the playoffs.

Fellow 2012 draftee Harrison Barnes adds more of an outside threat as a forward. While playing a bit smaller, he isn't afraid to go down low. He is a tough, fundamentally sound player, and his 11.9 points per game this postseason can attest to that.
