Belmont Stakes 2015: Post Time, TV Schedule and Race Live Stream
This year's Belmont Stakes has finally taken shape. Barring any late changes to the field—e.g. a scratch—we now know officially who is running, what post position they'll run out of, and what their morning-line odds are.
Now, just two days stand between us, and one of the best days in North American horse racing.
The undercard is arguably the best in North America aside from the Breeders' Cup, but, like last year, the Belmont will steal the show.
For the second time in as many years, we'll have a horse racing for a Triple Crown. Trainer, Bob Baffert, rider, Victor Espinoza and owner, Ahmed Zayat, hope to see their colt, American Pharoah, cross the finish line as the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed last accomplished the feat back in 1978.
Surely you don't want to miss this superstar colt take a swing at one of the greatest accomplishments in all of sports, right? Well, fortunately, you've come to the right place.
In the sections to follow you'll find everything you need to know about where, when and how to watch the 147th running of the Belmont Stakes. After that, I'll give you a look at the entire field, along with their post positions and morning-line odds, followed by a brief look at what to expect in this year's Run for the Carnations.
Let's get started!

Race Outlook
The stakes couldn't get any bigger for American Pharoah. To draw a comparison with a more familiar sport for most, this would essentially be the same as Hank Aaron having announced his retirement, and breaking Babe Ruth's home run record in the final at-bat of his career.
Just over a week ago, the news broke that Pharoah had his breeding rights sold to Coolmore Ashford Stud:
Since then, speculation has been raging as to whether or not the Belmont would be his last race. However, according to Richard Rosenblatt of the Associated Press, the Zayats will retain full racing rights over AP until the end of his three-year-old season.
So, you're probably not seeing Pharoah's last race; rejoice! That said, you may not see him win here either.
A three-year-old colt by the name of Frosted is looming large as a 6-1 "underdog" and is easily the biggest threat to Pharoah completing his sweep of the Triple Crown.
Frosted dominated in the Wood Memorial, prior to logging a fourth-place finish in the Kentucky Derby. It wasn't his best effort, but the Tapit colt showed impressive burst late and was one of only two horses to finish the race with a strong closing effort.
Frosted looks like a strong choice to defeat Pharoah, but according to Jennie Rees of the Courier-Journal, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin is already tempering expectations:
"American Pharoah looks like a superstar and is going to be very hard to beat. The closer we get to the race, I just have to keep going back to the fact that it's been a long time since we've had a Triple Crown winner. I've watched his workouts and he just looks like a special horse.
"
The former Belmont-winning trainer went on to state that, "Like I said, I love our horse. He couldn't be doing better. But wow, it's going to take a subpar race from American Pharoah, I'm afraid."
Frosted has it in him to win the Belmont, but, like McLaughlin said, it's going to take a subpar race, and one of Frosted's best records to get the job done.

So who else is left?
Materiality and Mubtaahij are the most likely contenders, but even they're going to need superhuman efforts to best Pharoah.
Materiality was sixth best in the Derby last time out, but turned out winning efforts in the Islamorada and then again in the Grade 1 Florida Derby. Since the Kentucky Derby, Materiality has been working up a storm, logging efforts that ranked 4/33 and 4/20 on both May 29 and May 22, respectively, per Equibase.com.
Mubtaahij, like Materiality, is working well since moving to Belmont. The Dubawi colt logged a bullet in his first breeze over Belmont's inner turf, and followed with three top-10 times in four workouts coming between May 20 and May 30, per Equibase.com.
The young colt has been working well, but according to Tim Wilkin of the Albany Times Union, trainer Michael De Kock isn't sounding all that confident about his horse's chances this Saturday:
"Certainly, we’ll get a lot closer, I believe. As for turning things around, I don’t think that will be easy. I’m expecting to improve a few lengths on (the Derby). We are coming here thinking we will improve on that. Whether that’s good enough to get closer to American Pharoah … I still think he will be a very hard horse to beat. If we can get a little closer, we’ll be happy.
"
In short, it doesn't sound like anybody has enough to beat Pharoah at Belmont this Saturday. It sounds cliche to pick yet another Derby-Preakness double winner to complete the sweep, but even his opponents are convinced they can't win.
At this point, it seems as though Pharoah is destined to make history in this 147th Belmont Stakes.
