Gennady Golovkin vs. Carl Froch: Latest News and Rumours on Potential Fight
Carl Froch is yet to publicly announce whether he will fight again or retire, but reports suggest The Cobra may be interested in a lucrative battle against Gennady Golovkin.
Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn, who represents Froch, recently admitted Golovkin may possess the luring power to fire the Brit up again.

Hearn: 'Right Deal' will Secure Froch vs. Golovkin Fight

Hearn spoke recently to BoxingScene.com and Be Real TV about the prospect of an England-based showdown between the pair. He suggests Froch remains undecided but that a profitable television agreement may help the bout happen, as reported by Edward Chaykovsky of Boxing Scene [sic]:
"I don't know if Carl will fight again. If he does it will probably be Golovkin. Everyone is talking about the fight and HBO is talking about the fight, but let's see what kind of money HBO brings to the table. If its the right deal, I think he'll fight again. I think Golovkin flicks the switches for Carl Froch and I think he's interested in the fight. If he fights again I think it will probably be Golovkin, but [Froch] may not fight again.
"
Froch previously told Sky Sports News HQ (via Sky Sports) he will make an announcement on his future in June, detailing how close the decision will be between another appearance and retirement: "It's very close. You could literally take a coin out of your pocket, flip it call heads or tails, and there’s your decision. I literally, hand on heart, do not know."

Golovkin recently asked his fans whether they want to see him fight at London's Wembley Stadium via a simple tweet, fuelling suggestions he could challenge Froch in front of a British crowd.
Froch hasn't stepped into the ring since beating George Groves at the arched arena in May 2014, a battle which sold approximately 80,000 tickets. He was recently stripped of his WBA belt for failing to complete a mandatory defence within a year, per BBC Sport.
However, the Nottingham-born fighter's record currently stands at an impressive 33-2, with losses to Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward serving as the only blots on his professional career.

Golovkin would have to move up a weight to face Froch but is likely to pose considerable danger to anyone the super middleweight division can offer. The 33-year-old possesses a formidable 33-0 record, which includes 30 knockouts, as recorded by BoxRec.
Unlike Froch, Golovkin remains active in the ring. He has comfortably beaten Martin Murray and Willie Monroe Jr. since the turn of 2015, utilising an aggressive style and devastating punching power to waltz through anyone put in his way.
Froch has become a more considered fighter over the years—highlighted during his calculated second defeat of Groves—but he would need to quickly stop Golovkin from finding his rhythm if they ever face off.
With so much time spent away from the ring, one has to question whether Froch still possesses the desire to take on a hungry fighter of Golovkin's ilk.
We can expect significant updates soon.
