WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of May 4
The best WWE social media that fans experienced as May began had a grab-bag feel.
Topics ranged from the Hamburglar to Star Wars, from Deflategate to I Quit matches. Twitter and Instagram merged the WWE world with sports and sci-fi to create a patchwork collection of shareable content. And to no one's surprise, Randy Orton and his trusty RKO showed up as well.
We begin with Cesaro, who shut down rumors of him having an alter ego.

McDonald's recently brought back a revamped version of the Hamburglar. The bold change had the Internet abuzz. Oddly enough, it looks a bit like the Repo Man and a lot like Cesaro in a mask.
The Swiss Superman took to Twitter to explain any potential mix-ups:
The Star Wars franchise was a hot subject as well. May 4 was apparently Star Wars Day, as in "May the fourth be with you." Never count out WWE in terms of finding a way to merge a trending topic with its own product.
The company superimposed lightsabers on several WWE Superstars. For one, WWE's Instagram showed off Dean Ambrose taking out Bray Wyatt Jedi-style:
WWE also tweeted a link to images in the same vein:
In addition to being a celebration of Star Wars, Monday was Pat Patterson Appreciation Night. After Raw in Montreal, the first-ever man to win the Intercontinental Championship received a tribute in his hometown.
WWE's Instagram account shared a great shot of John Cena showing him respect during the event:
Cena is heavily featured in the latest countdown video on WWE's YouTube channel. The compilation covers a variety of I Quit bouts. Terry Funk, The Miz, Beth Phoenix and Rey Mysterio all make appearances:
Notice that Cena is the one forcing folks to quit. With Cena's track record in these contests, Rusev has to be nervous heading into Payback.
The upcoming return of Tough Enough has people talking even more than that pay-per-view. Audition tapes continue to roll in, and we now know that Chris Jericho, Renee Young, Daniel Bryan and Hulk Hogan will be involved with the show.
All this buzz about the reality series is sure to have fans flashing back.
WWE put together a list of five wrestlers from previous seasons of Tough Enough. As the video shows, it's the place where guys like Ryback got their start with the company:
Meanwhile in the sports media world, the Deflategate story refuses to wind down. Whether or not Tom Brady knew about the attendants adjusting the air pressure of footballs was not what ESPN's Robert Flores had on his mind, though.
He makes a good point about a WWE character that never was:
And it's become increasingly true that if there is a video of someone falling down somewhere, it will inevitably be RKO-ized. Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery found that out as he was trying to guard Lionel Messi.
His spill became fodder for a virtual version of Orton:
We end on a more somber note. Thursday would have marked Owen Hart's 50th birthday. Even now, some 16 years after his death, he remains in many fans' and wrestlers' minds.
The Iron Sheik was one of many that took to Twitter to salute the late star:
Normally, the Sheik is a jokester on the medium, taking shots at Justin Bieber or Alex Rodriguez. Here, he sums up how many people feel about The King of Harts. Hopefully, Owen is playing a rib on someone in heaven, making folks smile as he did back on Earth.
