FIFA World Rankings 2015: Mexico Big Fallers in Latest International Standings
Mexico have dropped four places in the FIFA World Rankings, exiting the top 20 after May's update to the international football standings.
Only three matches were played across the globe since the previous update, none of which altered the current top 10, as reported by FIFA's official website:
| 1 | Germany | 1687 | - |
| 2 | Argentina | 1494 | - |
| 3 | Belgium | 1457 | - |
| 4 | Colombia | 1412 | - |
| 5 | Brazil | 1372 | - |
| 6 | Netherlands | 1301 | - |
| 7 | Portugal | 1221 | - |
| 8 | Uruguay | 1176 | - |
| 9 | Switzerland | 1135 | - |
| 10 | Spain | 1132 | - |

As such, the governing body's weighting system—which sees the value of results decrease over time—has made the biggest alteration to each nation's points.

However, Mexico's plummet to 22nd is barely surprising considering their indifferent post-World Cup form. Wins over Ecuador and Paraguay have been sandwiched between disappointing losses to Belarus and the United States, meaning Miguel Herrera's men have work to do if they're to climb back into the top 20.
Mexico are scheduled to face Senegal and Peru in their next two matches, per Soccerway.
Elsewhere, the lack of matches has aided Wales' progression. Last month's rise to 22nd saw the nation clinch their highest spot since the FIFA World Rankings began, but this month, they have gone one better, leapfrogging Mexico in the process.

No side has gained more points than Russia's 47 (up to 27th), while Suriname's jump of 14 ranks (up to 155) marks them as the update's biggest success.
On the other end of the scale, Montenegro have suffered the biggest drop by points (down 34), and Mauritania's loss of nine ranks (down to 129th) is the steepest fall.
The next major international break will see teams play at the start of June, but most won't have returned to action by the time the next update is added on June 4.
Emphasis on international fixtures will step up with the end of the European club season, but we cannot expect to see many changes in four weeks' time.
