IPL 2015: Top 10 Bowlers of Week 4 of Indian Premier League
Another week of action in the Indian Premier League has concluded, with a number of individuals having impressed with the ball in hand.
Those bowlers—both seamers and spinners—have profited even in spite of the dominance of the bat and ensured that a number of games have been very interesting indeed.
Read on for the top 10 bowlers from the fourth week of the IPL.
All stats, courtesy of ESPNCricinfo, reflect games from April 25 to May 1.
10. Dwayne Bravo (Chennai Super Kings)
1 of 10
3 matches; 3 wickets; 3-22 BBI
Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo looked strong at times this week with the ball to help his side to two victories from three games.
His best of 3-22 came in defeat to the Kolkata Knight Riders but will encourage him personally as he looks to round into form.
9. Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai Super Kings)
2 of 10
3 matches; 3 wickets; 3-22 BBI
Indian left-armer Ravindra Jadeja had an interesting week with the ball, starting with 3-22 for the Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab.
He may have gone wicketless in his next two games but managed to contain opposing batsmen very well and did a good job for his team.
8. Mitchell Starc (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
3 of 10
2 matches; 3 wickets; 3-20 BBI
Mitchell Starc’s strong run of form from the World Cup has continued into the IPL, as he has looked impressive for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
His three-wicket haul against the Delhi Daredevils was very impressive, although he will have been disappointed to have been prevented from bowling against Rajasthan by the rain.
7. Trent Boult (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
4 of 10
2 matches; 3 wickets; 3-19 BBI
New Zealander Trent Boult had a disappointing start to his week with the ball for Sunrisers Hyderabad, but things improved greatly later on.
After going wicketless against the Mumbai Indians, Boult went on to take three wickets against Kings XI Punjab to finish the week on a high.
6. Nathan Coulter-Nile (Delhi Daredevils)
5 of 10
2 matches; 4 wickets; 4-20 BBI
Another Australian to make an impact this week was Nathan Coulter-Nile of the Delhi Daredevils, who finished especially strongly.
Against Kings XI Punjab’s strong batting lineup, Coulter-Nile took 4-20 to help restrict them to just118-8, a total they could not defend.
5. Ravichandran Ashwin (Chennai Super Kings)
6 of 10
2 matches; 4 wickets; 2-5 BBI
Another Indian to impress in his home league is Ravichandran Ashwin, who has looked very effective with the ball this week.
He clearly enjoys bowling on his home turf, especially as he continues to maintain a very low economy rate.
4. Lasith Malinga (Mumbai Indians)
7 of 10
2 matches; 5 wickets; 4-23 BBI
Lasith Malinga continues to be highly effective in Twenty20 cricket and has proved once again this week how important he is for the Mumbai Indians.
His 4-23 helped secure victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad, who had no answer to his slingy action and skiddy pace.
3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
8 of 10
2 matches; 5 wickets; 3-26 BBI
Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has enjoyed a solid week for Sunrisers Hyderabad in his two games for them.
His best of 3-26 came against Mumbai Indians, and while Hyderabad could not win, Kumar will be encouraged by his recent form.
2. Brad Hogg (Kolkata Knight Riders)
9 of 10
2 matches; 5 wickets; 4-29 BBI
In his first games of professional cricket since January, Australian Brad Hogg has looked right at home for the Kolkata Knight Riders once again.
The left-armer took 1-18 and then 4-29 against the Chennai Super Kings in consecutive games, proving that, even at 44 years old, he still has plenty to offer at the top level.
1. Mitchell McClenaghan (Mumbai Indians)
10 of 10
2 matches; 6 wickets; 3-20 BBI
On two occasions this week, Mitchell McClenaghan has taken three wickets in an innings for the Mumbai Indians as they have been victorious twice in a row.
The New Zealander has managed to take his wickets at a decent economy rate, too, and will hope his form can continue in his coming games.
