Betting Tips and Predictions
Draw (12-1)
Mayweather is a significant favourite to win Saturday's fight, and with good reason. He has never lost a professional bout, and his defence is surely still solid enough to resist Pacquiao who, at 36, is not quite the devastating force he once was.
Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez, who has fought both Pacquiao and Mayweather, believes the 38-year-old has the style to take the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena:
However, while Mayweather by decision (20-27) is the most likely outcome, it is hardly the most interesting bet to be had.
The draw, on the other hand, offers great value at 12-1, and could certainly be a possibility. The anticipation surrounding the Las Vegas clash is warranted because these two fighters have defined boxing for a generation.
They are both class acts, and although Pacquiao had a bad year in 2012, losing to both Marquez and Timothy Bradley, he has bounced back impressively.
Pacquiao's aggressive, attacking style is "judge-friendly", per boxing writer Eric Raskin, which could level him up with Mayweather if, as is likely, the fight goes the distance:
Pacquiao will come out fast. He will surely win the opening exchanges, as Mayweather likes to feel out his opponents in the first few rounds.
While Money should finish the stronger, there is certainly the potential for two of the three judges to score a draw after 12 rounds, not least as such a result would almost guarantee a rematch. And who doesn't want to see that?
Fight Goes the Distance (1-3)

Saturday's fight will go the distance. Formerly the knockout king—Pacquiao won 13 consecutive fights by KO or TKO between 1997 and 2001—the Filipino has not won by KO or TKO since 2009.
Mayweather will plan to go 12 rounds, as he most often does. That is how he wins. He has won just twice by knockout since 2006, one of which was the controversial felling of Victor Ortiz in 2011.
Mayweather has a legacy to protect. A legacy which lies in his unbeaten status. Pacquiao is his most dangerous opponent since Oscar De La Hoya in 2007, and Money will not put his legacy at stake by going for a risky knockout combination.
Mayweather will be confident of winning if it goes to the cards—it's what he does—and his skills lie in his ability to avoid any winning blow from Pacquiao, and then come good at the end.
There is little value being offered by backing the fight to go the distance—or over 11.5 rounds at 10-31—but by going big, money can be made.
Saturday in Las Vegas is a blockbuster night, and the millions watching will want to get their money's worth. With the fight set to go all the way, they almost certainly will.
