Duke Basketball: Top 5 Highlights from Final Four Run
Duke continued its special season this past weekend, beating Utah and Gonzaga to win the South Region and advance to the school's first Final Four since 2010. Tyus Jones was named the MVP of the region, and Justise Winslow continued to make spectacular defensive plays and clutch shots.
It has been a season of highlights so far for the Blue Devils. Before Looking ahead to the Final Four, let's look back on Duke's top moments of the Big Dance so far.
5. Players React to Earning a Top Seed
1 of 5Anything that draws a smile from the stone-faced Winslow is a big deal. While top teams often play it cool after seeing their draw in the tournament, it was nice to see this group be so openly proud of their accomplishment. Their reactions were right in place with this team's behavior all year: lots of joy and lots of love for each other.
4. Justise Winslow Stuffs Delon Wright
2 of 5When Winslow is tracking a player from behind, an exhilarating block is almost a given at this point. Here we see him chasing down Utah's star Delon Wright and swatting his layup attempt hard off the glass.
Winslow makes this block extra awesome with a staredown of Wright afterwards and some semi-audible trash talk.
3. Nice Passing Leads to Okafor's Slam
3 of 5Always reward the big man for running the floor. In this highlight, Duke is off and running after another stellar defensive play from Winslow. Just when it seems like the play may not be going anywhere, Tyus Jones drops a beautiful pass to Jahlil Okafor, who slams it with ease.
2. Matt Jones Is a Hero
4 of 5What can turn a role player into a cold-blooded, three-point assassin? Whataburger can.
1. Quinn Cook and Coach K Hug It out
5 of 5
The phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words" greatly undersells this image. This picture is worth three years of ups and downs before a glorious senior season by Quinn Cook.
Playing all year with the weight of two first-round exits in March on his shoulders, Cook has become the leader and the scorer this team needs. Now that he has reached a Final Four, Cook will be remembered as fondly as he deserves to be.
Let's hope he is not quite done building his legacy. Go Duke!
