Former NHL Player Ferociously Attacks Opponent with Stick During Warm-Ups
There are cheap shots, and then there's this.
During warm-ups before a Swedish playoff hockey game between Rogle BK and VIK Vasteras HK on Thursday, Rogle's Andre Deveaux viciously attacked VIK's Per Helmersson. After skating from the boards to the middle of the ice, Deveaux wound up and delivered a hard slash to Helmersson's leg before going for his head.

Shockingly, it does not appear, via the box score, as though Deveaux was penalized for his actions. In fact, he recorded an assist in the game and was allowed to play Sunday too.
Update from Tuesday, March 31
A warrant for Deveaux's arrest has been issued, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnson:

Update from Monday, March 30
Rogle and Deveaux have agreed to go their separate ways, according to a statement issued by the club, as translated by Yahoo Sports (h/t USA Today's For The Win):
"We as a club condemn the incident. It is an unacceptable behavior and nothing we as a club [stand] behind … We have talked to Andre today about the incident and jointly decided to go [our] separate ways … His actions are indefensible.

This should have resulted in an immediate ejection, followed by a long suspension, which will hopefully be coming.
Deveaux, who logged 31 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers between the 2008-09 and 2011-12 seasons, shouldn't be allowed to play in games anytime soon after what he did to Helmersson.
