NCAA Tournament 2015: Full Schedule and Bracket Information for Sweet 16
Sixty-eight teams were whittled down to 64. From there, just 32 remained heading into the first weekend. Now, exactly two weeks before the national championship game, only 16 teams remain with hopes of competing for the title.
The NCAA tournament may have started with a bang, but it mostly lacked luster heading into the Sweet 16. Just one double-digit seed remains with UCLA carrying the torch. The glass slipper didn't fit for Cinderella for long, and a program that has won 11 championships can't exactly hold that title.
One No. 1 seed has already been ousted with N.C. State taking care of Villanova in the round of 32. Considering the fact that the Wolfpack have a matchup with an ACC opponent they've already beaten in Louisville, their run might not be over in the Sweet 16.

Region to Watch: East
While some other regions experienced shocking upsets in the second round, the third in the East was like no other. Both of the favorites were knocked out before the Sweet 16 with Villanova and Virginia being toppled over the weekend.
Sure, Kansas was knocked out by another No. 7 seed in Wichita State, and a No. 11 seed in UCLA made it to the Sweet 16. But the East region is now wide open with Oklahoma as the top remaining seed—and one of only two Big 12 programs remaining.
The teams to watch will be N.C. State and Michigan State, two programs that are surging down the stretch. The Wolfpack haven't won a national title since 1983, which, ironically, was the last time they knocked off a top seed, via Pack Pride:
N.C. State is led by guards Anthony "Cat" Barber, Trevor Lacey and Ralston Turner. Those three sharpshooters have been phenomenal all season, but it was the growth of forwards Lennard Freeman, Abdul-Malik and BeeJay Anya that led the Pack to a win over Villanova.
In the previous win over LSU, it was Kyle Washington's presence off the bench and Anya's tip-in that were the difference. With a complete lineup to take on Louisville, the Sweet 16 might not be the final destination for this program.
Michigan State, on the other hand, is a slightly more believable story. They didn't look like a team ready to compete for a national title this year, but the Spartans are surging again in March. A huge component of that success is the team's physicality, as Jay Bilas of ESPN points out:
Travis Trice has been unreal in the tournament, scoring 23 points against Virginia to lead his team to a win. Branden Dawson has done the same inside with 34 minutes in the round of 32 and dominating on the boards.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports also notes how impressive Michigan State has been in March:
It doesn't take much to believe in the Spartans thanks to Tom Izzo's resounding success at this time of year. Even against an Oklahoma team that has played well down the stretch, Izzo will have his team ready for anything and might be set for another run to a Final Four.
