NCAA Tournament 2015: Schedule Date, Time, TV Info and Live Stream for Sweet 16

Kenny DeJohnMar 23, 2015

Your bracket is busted and your upset picks have gone awry. Join the club. There's a long line.

This edition of the NCAA tournament has been one for the ages, with the first day of major action defined by its close games and its future contests defined by the unpredictable upsets. Millions of brackets were busted by Day 2 of the round of 64, as few chose Georgia State and UAB to upset their respective foes.

The round of 32 was just as exciting. Top seeds fell and undervalued teams prevailed, setting up what appears to be a somewhat wide-open Sweet 16 field. Sure, Kentucky is the favorite, but the past week has shown that anything can happen during March Madness.

Sweet 16 Preview

Three No. 1 seeds remain in the field of 16 teams. Kentucky, Wisconsin and Duke are each coming off impressive wins in the round of 32, setting themselves up for favorable matchups in the Sweet 16.

Kentucky should have no problems besting West Virginia, a team with bigs who aren't capable of containing the likes of Willie Cauley-Stein and Karl-Anthony Towns. Plus, picking against a 36-0 team is never a smart move.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman also doubts the chances of the Mountaineers:

Wisconsin is likely the No. 1 seed who needs to be on upset alert, as North Carolina has played two strong games in the tournament. The Tar Heels didn't exactly rough up Harvard or Arkansas, but they shot well from the floor in each contest, averaging just over 50 percent shooting for the tournament. Marcus Paige and Justin Jackson have been a strong duo, but UNC requires their best play of the season to beat Frank Kaminsky and the Badgers.

Both No. 2 seeds—Arizona and Gonzaga—should win with ease against their next opponents. Xavier and UCLA have had strong showings, but it's unlikely that they'll be able to stave off the Wildcats or Bulldogs, respectively.

Louisville should also advance against N.C. State, despite the fact that the Wolfpack knocked off No. 1 Villanova in the round of 32. Both of their wins in the tourney have come by a combined four points. While the team's reputation as an escape artist certainly makes them a difficult opponent, there's no betting against Rick Pitino in the Sweet 16:

Louisville has perhaps one of the most dynamic players in the entire contest. Simply put, Terry Rozier knows how to take games over:

He added seven assists and five rebounds against Northern Iowa for good measure.

There are two contests in particular that are must-sees, one of which is Michigan State against Oklahoma. Tom Izzo's club is in its seventh Sweet 16 in the past eight seasons after an upset victory over No. 2 Virginia. The Spartans are playing fluid, sharp, determined basketball right now, which makes them a difficult draw for any team left in the field.

Having beaten one of the top defensive teams in the country in Virginia, Michigan State shouldn't have issues with the Sooners' 75th-ranked defense.

Oklahoma must combat the issues it faced against Dayton. The Sooners won't survive 15 turnovers against the Spartans, and Buddy Hield and Jordan Woodard cannot afford to go 7-of-22 from the field (2-of-8 from three) again. A more efficient offensive outing should make this game a tight one.

The other must-see (and perhaps the must-see) is Wichita State's showdown with Notre Dame—the first game of the Sweet 16.

The Shockers weren't undefeated this season and were only given a No. 7 seed in the Big Dance. Even after a bout with No. 2 Kansas, they're still dancing. The Shockers employed suffocating defense in the full and half court to stifle the Jayhawks guards, turning Kansas' generally fluid attack into a manic scramble for open looks.

Kansas had the bigger names, but Wichita State's Fred VanVleet knows his team was deserving of the win.

"We don't have McDonald's All-Americans, we don't have guys that have been in the spotlight, and been given that pedestal," VanVleet told The Associated Press (via ESPN.com). "We work for everything we've got, from managers to coaches to our preacher to, you know, whoever. We've scrapped and fought our whole lives."

VanVleet and his teammates must continue to scrap against Notre Dame, a similarly potent offense that ranked 12th nationally in points per game (78.8) during the regular season.

The Irish just barely took down Northeastern, a No. 14 seed, in the team's first game of the tourney. Overtime was needed to finish off Butler, making it clear that the Irish can be beaten. Despite dropping close to 80 points per game with regularity this season, they've dropped just 68 per game in the tournament.

The Shockers have been overlooked for much of the season, but a spot in the Elite Eight is calling. An upset is certainly in the cards.
