NCAA Tournament Schedule 2015: TV Info and Updated Bracket Heading into Day 3

R. Cory SmithMar 19, 2015

Following Dayton and Robert Morris collecting wins on Wednesday night, the field of 64 teams is officially set. Don't worry Kentucky fans, Robert Morris is on the other side of the bracket, so the earliest the two teams could meet is in the national championship game.

What lies ahead for Kentucky is another favorable matchup with No. 16 Hampton, who comes in with a 17-17 record after winning Tuesday's play-in game. Hampton coach Edward Joyner knows his opposition is the best team in the country, so he infamously called on Jesus during his postgame press conference in Dayton.

"Hold on, I told y'all I had Jesus on speed dial," Joyner said, via Jonathan Lintner of The Courier-Journal. "Hey, Jesus. First of all, you can't play, so I am not worried about you being hot. OK? Fine. They want to know how much of a mountain and what are our odds. Hello? Hello? I guess he'll get back to me."

Matchup to Watch: Utah vs. Stephen F. Austin

Welcome back to the big stage, Stephen F. Austin. The Lumberjacks went from a cute story last year to busting brackets everywhere. That was possible only through beating a previous Cinderella in VCU under the national spotlight.

Now, the program returns to the NCAA tournament in a familiar spot. Not only are the Lumberjacks back in the South Region, but they also clinched a coveted No. 12 seed. Considering the fact that three of four No. 12 seeds won last year, the odds look favorable for Stephen F. Austin.

Before the bracket was set, Seth Davis of Sports Illustrated heeded this warning:

The lucky team that drew the Lumberjacks was Utah, who hobbles into the tournament after a woeful end to the year. The Utes finished at 3-4 in their final seven games, including a bad loss to Washington in the regular-season finale.

Due to that recent collapse, Nicole Auerbach of USA Today believes Stephen F. Austin is worth picking:

Stephen F. Austin ranks in the top 10 in points per game (79.5), assists (17.8) and field-goal percentage (.491) this season. That tournament experience Auerbach alluded to is headed by junior guard Thomas Walkup and senior forward Jacob Parker. Both are averaging over 14 points per game this season, and the duo tallied 34 points in last season's win over VCU.

The Utes will counter with do-it-all guard Delon Wright. Averaging 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game, the senior nearly leads Utah in all three categories—only Jakob Poeltl averages more rebounds with 6.9 per game.

Faced with a decision to return or leave for the NBA last offseason, Wright returned to lead the Utes to an at-large bid in the tournament. The 6'5" guard knows he made the right decision.

"I don't regret it at all," he said, per Kyle Goon of The Salt Lake Tribune. "Just helping this program, this program helping me get my degree. It's been real fun. I wouldn't have gotten a chance to play in the NCAA tournament, and it's looking like something I'll be able to do. I'm really excited about that."

Regardless of the outcome, this matchup promises to be a memorable one during Thursday's 16-game slate. When the Utes and Lumberjacks tip off at 7:27 p.m. ET on truTV, it will be a battle until the final buzzer sounds to end one team's hopes of a long run.
