March Madness Bracket 2015: Complete Round 2 Picks for Your Printable Sheet

R. Cory SmithMar 18, 2015

And we all thought we'd have to wait until Thursday for the madness to start.

Ole Miss has already provided the first upset of the NCAA tournament after knocking off BYU in the First Four. Sure, both were projected as No. 11 seeds, but the Cougars were seen by many as the favorite to not only advance, but knock off No. 6 Xavier along the way.

Even Jay Bilas of ESPN had BYU getting knocked out in the round of 32. That's the thing about March, you just never know what's going to transpire over the next several weeks.

Most Confident Upset Pick: Davidson over Iowa

No, Stephen Curry isn't lacing up for Davidson any longer, but this Wildcats team can play. Picked to finish last in their inaugural year in the Atlantic 10 in the preseason, the Wildcats finished with 24 wins, 14 of which earned them the regular-season title.

Bob McKillop can work some magic.

The Davidson head coach has worked so much magic this season that he even has analysts believing he can win in March again. Bilas points out Davidson is one of the smartest picks when filling out a bracket:

Since 2012, just four No. 10 seeds have advanced out of the first round, per OddsShark.com. Though the numbers may be low, that means that picking at least one No. 10 seed to advance is a must for the 2015 bracket.

Those looking for a tightly contested matchup won't have to look far, as Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports notes:

What Rothstein preaches is the truth. The Hawkeyes have a lineup that includes standout forwards like Aaron White and Jarrod Uthoff, who have combined to average 28.3 points and 13.8 rebounds per game.

How do you beat a team with size? With elite guard play. That's exactly what the Wildcats boast with a staggering four guards who score in double digits every game. The top of the crop for Davidson is the combo of Tyler Kalinoski and Jack Gibbs, who average over 16 points and shoot over 43 percent from three-point range.

Having that many exceptional guards makes the Davidson offense one of the most efficient in the country, per ESPN Stats & Info:

Thanks to that pace of play and an ability to haul in rebounds—they rank 49th in the country—the Wildcats will come out on top.  Any sort of run might be halted by No. 2 Gonzaga, but an upset would certainly put an exclamation point on an extraordinary season for McKillop and Davidson.
