Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
The Cyclones have five players who average double-digit points and six players who score nine points or more, led by leading man Georges Niang (15.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 3.5 APG).
This is a team that can strike from anywhere on the court, as they use excellent spacing, pinpoint shooting and versatile big men to create mismatches and spread an opponent's defense thin. It's a lot of fun to watch, and more importantly, it means Iowa State is never out of the game.
Few teams are more entertaining than Fred Hoiberg's Cyclones. If you love beautiful offensive basketball, this is your team.
Stephen F. Austin
The Lumberjacks score 79.5 points per game, 10th in the nation. They dish out 17.8 assists per game, tops in the country. They play a high-pressure man-to-man defense, so they not only force a ton of turnovers, but they can also be exposed in the half court, giving up easy buckets. So they generally don't find themselves in low-scoring affairs.
Still, it's that sort of breathless, relentless pressure they put opponents under that makes them so fun to watch. Add in the exciting Thomas Walkup and Jacob Parker leading the way, and this is a team you don't want to miss.
Villanova
Do you like teams that shoot often from beyond the arc? Then you are going to love Villanova.
A whopping 43 percent of Villanova's shots come from behind the three-point line, per Dan Greene of SI.com. The Wildcats are a balanced team too, never relying on just one player to lead them in scoring on any given night. They share the wealth, with Darrun Hilliard, Josh Hart, Dylan Ennis, Ryan Arcidiacono, Phil Booth, Kris Jenkins, Daniel Ochefu and JayVaughn Pinkston all capable of stealing the show.
The Wildcats also play excellent defense and aren't afraid to press opponents, forcing turnovers. They like to run as well and can quickly bury a team with their transition game and three-point shooting. They aren't just very, very good, they are also very, very fun to watch.
Duke
Duke generally has explosive offensive teams, but the sheer talent they have this year makes them often thrilling to watch. Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones, Quinn Cook and Justise Winslow lead the most talented group in the country outside of Kentucky, a big reason they scored 80.6 points per game (fourth in the country) and shot 50.2 percent from the field (third in the nation).
Duke can flat out bury opponents when they get hot. If you like great offensive basketball, there might not be a team in the country more fun to watch than the Blue Devils.
