St. Louis Set to Return vs. Wild
Wednesday, April 1
"Both Marty St. Louis and [head coach Alain] Vigneault confirm St. Louis will make his return from a sprained right MCL tomorrow night here in Minnesota," Andrew Gross of The Record reported.
On March 25, Vigneault commented on St. Louis' status and was hopeful for his return, according to NorthJersey.com's Andrew Gross:
"Vigneault said he’s hoping Marty St. Louis (right knee) will be one of the shooters - before Vigneault makes the decision on Friday whether Lundqvist will play Saturday afternoon at Boston or Sunday afternoon against the Capitals.
"
St. Louis suffered a lower-body injury - believed to be a sprained right knee - on March 15 and was expected to miss 10-14 days. He has yet to resume skating (other than going on ice today for the team picture) so Thursday could be his first time.
St. Louis suffered a lower-body injury on March 15. The team reported on its official Twitter account that “Forward Martin St. Louis will be sidelined 10-14 days with a lower-body injury suffered last night vs. Florida.”
It was less than ideal timing for the Rangers considering the regular season is gradually winding to a close, but it appears he will be back for the playoffs. St. Louis has 20 goals and 27 assists on the season and has been an integral part of an offensive attack that ranks fourth in the league in goals per game.
Others have had to step up in his absence as the team battles for postseason positioning.
