Cricket World Cup 2015: Highest Run-Scorers, Leading Bowling Figures and Stats
New Zealand worked hard to beat Bangladesh by three wickets at the 2015 Cricket World Cup on Friday, a match which confirmed their spot atop Pool A.

Elsewhere, Ian Bell's unbeaten 52 led England to a nine-wicket victory over Afghanistan, with Chris Jordan earning plaudits after posting bowling figures of two for 13.
Read on to find out how the day's play affected the individual stats charts.

Mahmudullah, Shakib Ready to Lead Bangladesh
Bangladesh may have suffered a three-wicket loss to New Zealand on Friday, but the performances of batsman Mahmudullah (128 n.o.) and stand-in captain Shakib Al Hasan (4-55) suggested they are ready to lead the side in the knockout stages of the tournament.
Both players managed to put the fear into New Zealand, a team who many expect to win the tournament. Mahmudullah worked solidly from 123 balls, hitting 15 boundaries and defending well as Brendon McCullum searched for a way to grab his wicket. Bangladesh's top order fell quickly—the score was 27 for two after 9.4 overs—but Mahmudullah took control at the crease.
He batted his way into the top 10 of various statistical charts, too. The composed star is now the fourth most prolific batsman at the tournament with 344 runs, while he also possesses the third best average of 86.00. Cricket Australia highlighted his quality:
"He's done it again! Back-to-back tons for @BCBtigers star Mahmudullah. LIVE: http://t.co/60uxYl1wst #cwc15 #NZvBAN pic.twitter.com/eQp5BQKcvP

Like Mahmudullah, Shakib's qualities have gone under the radar at the 2015 World Cup so far. He couldn't get enough of the ball on Friday and avidly sought to make New Zealand's chase to 288 as difficult as possible. He dismissed McCullum (8) and Kane Williamson (1) for inconsequential scores and also grabbed the important wicket of Martin Guptill (105), who looked as if he would last the full innings.
Shakib then lured Luke Ronchi (9) into trying to hit big, taking his wicket when Nasir Hossain caught at the boundary. With the score at 247 for six, Bangladesh threatened to secure an upset, but the efforts of Mahmudullah and Shakib were eventually fruitless.
Both need their team-mates to step up in the latter stages. There's the making of a top quality side here, an outfit who can cause shocks against the more fancied nations. If they do, Mahmudullah and Shakib will lead the way.
