Thursday Recap
Contending with the shoulder injury that had threatened to see him out of the Indian Open prematurely, Trump had a more difficult time of things against Adam Duffy than many might have predicted.
Injured or not, Trump quickly assembled a two-frame lead against Duffy, recording a match-high break of 61 in the first frame. However, a 3-1 lead was then tested after Duffy forced a decider at 3-3, per Pro Snooker Blog:
Trump rallied to win 4-3, however, and set up a meeting with Williams in the next stage after he was able to overcome the threat of Ebdon at this early stage of the contest.
Ebdon took an aggressive stance against Williams, but the "Welsh Wonder" wasn't to be worn down quite so easily, going on to record two centuries in the fifth and seventh frames, scoring 105 and 127 respectively:
That latter score would have gone down as the highest in the tournament thus far were it not for Stuart Carrington's 138 against Li Hang earlier in the day, albeit en route to a 4-1 defeat for the Englishman.
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh had better luck against Belgian Luca Brecel and claimed one of only two 4-0 wins on Thursday, notching a century break of 137 just short of Carrington's fantastic effort.

Another British name making his way into the final 16 is Ricky Walden, who defeated 2013 finalist and the last remaining Indian native in the competition, Aditya Mehta.
Walden triumphed 4-2 after initially opening up a 3-0 lead, with Michael Annison of Cue Action Blog confirming Mehta's exit just 18 months after losing to Ding Junhui in the inaugural competition:
World No. 8 Walden will face China's Tian Pengfei on Friday who along with Hang and Un-Nooh make up the surviving Asian contingent left in the tournament running.
Trump and Walden will remain among the Britons to watch in India, while the likes of John Higgins, Jamie Jones and Joe Perry are also in with a shot after progressing to the last 16 on Thursday.
