Manchester United Transfer News: Memphis Depay Hints at Move, Latest Rumours
PSV Eindhoven goal-machine Memphis Depay has dropped a major hint he may join Manchester United in the summer: by clicking favourite on a story linking him to the club while perusing Twitter.
Standard Sport reports that Depay "favourited a link posted by @PSVULTRAS which mentioned (Louis) Van Gaal's interest in signing him." However, Sport Witness provided confirmation the Netherlands international quickly unfavourited the tweet when users on social media started to take notice:

Depay has been linked with joining Louis van Gaal at United since last summer, with Goal suggesting potential interest. Dutch publication SoccerNews suggests the Red Devils are willing to drop €30 million on his services, with Sport Witness converting this to £21 million, and Jamie Sanderson of Metro putting the figure at £19.7 million.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf believes it's time for Depay to move on, per Sport Witness:
Sanderson says United "have already set aside the cash to do business." This comes after PSV boss Phillip Cocu admitted the electric forward is likely to depart, per Sport Express (h/t Aaron Flanagan of the Mirror): "At some point, it becomes clear that he is ready for the next step. And yes, I think he's going to leave PSV after this season."

Depay currently tops the Eredivisie goalscoring charts, racking up 16 in a coming-of-age season. The 21-year-old has a close bond with Van Gaal—who gave him a prominent role at the 2014 World Cup—as explained by football writer Elko Born:
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in his services, according to Graeme Bailey of Goal. Depay's qualities can be seen below:
United are also continuing to be linked with Real Madrid's Gareth Bale, per Luke Edwards of The Telegraph. Van Gaal desperately needs an injection of pace to increase his side's tempo and is going to need to spend heavily during the summer, particularly if United fall short on their quest to make the Champions League.
Depay's previous experiences with Van Gaal could turn out to be extremely beneficial for the club. He is one of the world's top talents, a player who is beginning to hit his stride and could continue to improve under the gaze of a manager who has a proven track record of developing young stars.
