March Madness 2015: Latest Bracketology Mid-Conference Tournaments
The Texas Longhorns reached 20 wins on Wednesday night and likely punched their tickets to the Big Dance. Behind a balanced performance, the Longhorns upended the Texas Tech Red Raiders 65-53 and advanced to the second round of the Big 12 tournament.
Win or lose against the No. 2-seeded Iowa State Cyclones, Texas has likely done enough to reach the NCAA tournament. According to ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi, Texas is one of the last teams to have ensured its spot in the field.
Despite its losing record in the Big 12, Texas has beaten three ranked teams this year. The Longhorns have also played the Big 12's top seed, the Kansas Jayhawks, tight twice. The first meeting was decided by 13 points, but anyone who saw the game knows it was closer than the final score would suggest. In the second game, Kansas won by five.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Texas doesn't have the strongest resume, but it ought to be enough to get it in the NCAA tournament. Here's a look at two other teams' postseason predicaments.
Indiana Hoosiers

There's a chance the Indiana Hoosiers could still make the NCAA tournament if they lose to the Northwestern Wildcats on Thursday, but that would be playing with fire. Indiana has four wins over ranked teams but has struggled to a .500 record against the Big Ten during the regular season.
Fans haven't exactly been kind to head coach Tom Crean or his family while the team struggles beneath the lofty standards in the Hoosier State. Through it all, the school's athletic director, Fred Glass, has had Crean's back. Per Andy Katz of ESPN.com, Glass said:
"He's a great coach. He has my full support. I have a great deal of confidence in Tom's body of work. This team overachieved early and then hit a tough patch."
With his team at 19-12, the embattled head coach needs his team to step up. There may be no way to win back the supporters he's lost or gain new fans, but Indiana needs a strong finish for the current players' psyches and for recruiting.
In a clutch performance, Crean's players will come away with the big win over Northwestern that convinces the committee to include them in the NCAA tournament field.
Texas A&M Aggies

With zero wins over ranked opponents and little chance of advancing deep into the SEC tournament, the Texas A&M Aggies seem like a prime candidate for the National Invitation Tournament.
The Aggies take on the Auburn Tigers on Thursday. They already swept the regular-season series against Auburn, so a third win would not be a major surprise. Unfortunately, the Aggies' strength of schedule is so poor, that win alone isn't going to be enough to reach the Big Dance.
If A&M beats Auburn, it would likely need to knock off the No. 4-seeded LSU Tigers in the next round and upset the undefeated and top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats in the semifinals. That isn't likely to happen.
A low strength of schedule is going to come back to bite the Aggies in the eyes of the selection committee.
