Players to Watch

The best player in college basketball and this summer's No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft is Duke's Jahlil Okafor. The fact that he happens to be on one of the tournament's best teams doesn't mean he somehow doesn't stand out.
Far from it.
Of course, a lot of this section will be all about future NBA talents, namely the players who will be taken off the board early. Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated brings up a few:
Karl-Anthony Towns is supremely talented and could even possibly overtake Okafor for the top overall pick, but at times, it's easy to forget about him on Kentucky's incredibly skilled and deep team. On the other hand, Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell almost always stands out given his electrifying scoring ability.
But you should be watching for more than just potential top-five lottery picks. Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky has arguably been college basketball's best player this season. Delon Wright of Utah has been fantastic. Notre Dame's Jerian Grant could be this year's Shabazz Napier.
"I definitely have some unsettled business. I want to leave a legacy here. Obviously we've had a great season here. We've broken some records. But our team number is not up there," Grant told Tom Coyne of The Associated Press, via Yahoo Sports as he motioned up toward the stadium's rafters. "If we can get up there, that would be special to me."
If Notre Dame does indeed make a deep run in the tournament, it will be Grant's doing.
There are plenty of other players to watch closely. Arizona's Stanley Johnson is loaded with talent. Wichita State's Ron Baker can fill it up. Bobby Portis, and not a player from Kentucky, was deemed the SEC's best player this season.
There are a slew of incredibly talented players at this year's tournament and a number more who will make a name for themselves amid March Madness. It's going to be fun watching certain players thrive and others emerge.
