Liverpool Transfer News: Lucas Vazquez Would Add Width and Depth to Reds' Attack
Liverpool may already be the most exciting attacking team in the Premier League, but it seems Brendan Rodgers is keen to add to his creative options with the capture of Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez.
Anthony Chapman of Express says the Reds will battle Espanyol for the winger's services—the team he is currently on loan at.
The attacking midfielder has performed well for the Catalan side this season and could be available for as little as £7 million, per Chapman.

Liverpool fans might know little about the 23-year-old, but he can play in a variation of formations, in the wider roles.
TalkSport quote the Galacticos speaking about their young star, with Los Blancos highlighting his ability and skill:
"A gifted player with great ball control who is dangerous in one-on-ones. He is very skilful and is very mobile across the front line. His ability to beat a man makes him a danger for any opposition.
"
He stands out for his explosive pace and dribbling.
Vazquez has clocked up a number of appearances this season, featuring 28 times in La Liga and the Copa del Rey, per WhoScored.com.
But despite his success at Espanyol, Chapman says, "The winger himself is said to be keen on an Anfield switch, and Carlo Ancelotti is happy for the player to decide where his future in football lies."
Rodgers has, to his immense credit, revived Liverpool's fortunes this season after a catastrophic start to life without Luis Suarez.

James Pearce of The Liverpool Echo quotes the Anfield boss speaking about his recruitment policy and the successes he is now seeing:
"The strategy was always going to take that bit of time and unfortunately now players get judged immediately. If you come in, even at £20million, £30million, £40million, whatever it is, it can still be difficult. ...
For players coming into the Premier League, which is the most competitive league in the world, it was always going to be difficult, especially when they're young.
"

At Liverpool, Vazquez would be given time to nurture his talent and fully develop his undeniable potential.
He would give the Reds vital depth, as Rodgers currently favours the 3-4-3 system, which would absolutely suit the young attacker.
The Anfield giants are about to face a difficult hurdle when Steven Gerrard exits Liverpool for a new life in Los Angeles, and Rodgers will need to add the correct blend of youth and experience to compensate and solidify his squad.
Vazquez would be a shrewd and affordable addition to Rodgers' set-up and help soften the blow of Gerrard's exit as the club looks forward and beyond.
