DJ Swearinger Allegedly Didn't Pay for $20,000 in Truck Customizations
Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger may be in some hot water after allegedly driving his newly customized truck away from a car dealership in Texas without paying the roughly $20,000 bill.
According to The Associated Press (via ESPN), authorities are looking into the matter which is said to have occurred on March 2:
"Authorities say Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger drove off from a business without paying for nearly $20,000 worth of customization work on his truck, though it could simply be a "misunderstanding."
Harris County sheriff's deputies were called to Espi Motor Sports on Monday night after Swearinger left when the business didn't provide an itemized list of the auto detailing services, sheriff's office spokesman Deputy Thomas Gilliland said Thursday.

However, the AP report notes that Gilliland believes "the situation looks like it's 'going to be a misunderstanding.'"
Per KHOU 11 in Houston, citing the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Swearinger wanted receipts for the work done to his truck; however, the owner of Espi Motor Sports "couldn't provide them," which led to the Texans safety driving away.
That report also notes the district attorney's office "hasn't accepted charges in the case because it's a civil matter...and the investigation is ongoing."
The 23-year-old Swearinger was drafted 57th overall by the Texans in 2013. He has appeared in all 32 regular-season games over the last two years, starting 22 of them, and recorded 106 total tackles with 10 passes defended and three interceptions.
