WWE SummerSlam 2015 Will Be Held at Barclays Center
For the first time in seven years, WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view will not take place in Los Angeles. The biggest show of the summer is returning to New York for the first time since 2002.
According to a tweet sent out by WWE, the show will take place on August 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn:

Per the official release on WWE.com, all of the usual pre-event activities will still take place, like autograph signings and rallies in the city:
"SummerSlam, featuring the biggest stars of WWE in action, will be broadcast around the world on WWE Network and pay-per-view. SummerSlam weekend will also include fan events, autograph signings, Be a STAR anti-bullying rallies, hospital visits and other community outreach programs designed to leave a lasting impact throughout the region.
"
WWE has used SummerSlam as a Hollywood event the past six years, owning Los Angeles' Staples Center since 2009, but one reason for the move this year could be due to WrestleMania.
The company's biggest show of the year, which takes place on March 29, will be held at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco. By bringing the No. 2 event of the year to New York, WWE can own both coasts and generate more headlines and buzz from both markets rather than trying to corner the West Coast market.
Plus, WWE has a long history with New York. The first WrestleMania and SummerSlam events were held in New York City, and the company loves to get at least one major show of the year in the state.
