Liverpool All-Star Charity Match to Feature Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, More
Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres and Thierry Henry are among the star names who will take part in a special charity match organised by the Liverpool FC Foundation.
The March 29 event will see two All-Star teams—one captained by current Reds skipper Steven Gerrard and the other by recently retired legend Jamie Carragher—take to Anfield to raise funds and awareness for organisations in the city.
Liverpool's official website confirmed the participation of many former club favourites:

Further details were provided by the club:
"Proceeds raised will help to fund the Liverpool FC Foundation's community programmes, which benefit thousands of young people and adults throughout the city of Liverpool.
Funds will also support Alder Hey's new Hospital in the Park, as well as providing support packages to Claire House, Positive Futures, Centre 56 and Cash for Kids.
"

The charity encounter will provide an entertaining distraction from an enthralling Premier League season for Reds fans, who have witnessed Liverpool rack up 12 games unbeaten in the division. Brendan Rodgers' men are just two points short of Manchester United in fourth after overcoming Burnley 2-0 on Wednesday.
Gerrard's appearance in the charity match will provide fans with a less intense atmosphere in which to celebrate their departing captain. He is due to join Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the season but will hope his final match for the side arrives at Wembley, not Anfield.
This season's FA Cup final takes place on May 30, six days after Liverpool's final Premier League encounter and on Gerrard's birthday. Many will remember the legendary midfielder's stunning strike in the 2006 final against West Ham, a feat he would undoubtedly love to repeat in his final act for the team.

Carragher is also likely to receive a rapturous applause after hanging up his boots in 2013. He has become a well-respected pundit for Sky Sports, where his on-screen discussions with Gary Neville—a former rival of his at Manchester United—draw in plenty of interest.
It's always an interesting prospect to see European footballing icons, those retired and currently playing, take to the field in pressure-free circumstances. Those attending can look forward to a night of enjoyment in the name of a good cause.
