Connolly tweeted about his injury:
The former member of the Tampa Bay Lightning has yet to make his debut for the Bruins. He had 12 goals and three assists in 50 games before the deadline deal that sent him North. The 2010 sixth overall pick was expected to provide some secondary scoring for Boston.
Instead, the team will move forward in its playoff chase without him. The Bruins currently hold the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, with multiple teams in pursuit. Now, they will need to finish the job without Connolly's help.
