Martin Brundle Makes a 44-Turn Ultimate F1 GP Track, Recreated in Scalextric

Mark PattersonMar 4, 2015

It's one thing to devise a dream Formula One track, but it's another level altogether to turn it into a giant Scalextric track—but that's precisely what Sky F1 commentator Martin Brundle has done ahead of the 2015 season.

Brundle's 44-turn circuit is a giant, featuring at least one corner from every grand prix on this year's calendar.

Featuring the iconic parts of tracks like the Wall of Champions in Canada, Casino Square in Monaco and Silverstone's Copse, it would be a remarkable challenge if it were real.

There is the next best thing, however: Scalextric.

Many people will have had the toys as children, but this is on a different scale. According to the company, the model is nine metres wide and long:

"

A team of experts from Scalextric HQ, and track builders Corporate Layouts have been hard at work at Sky Sports' studios this week, building a massive 177 track pieces into a complex circuit measuring 45 metres long.

"

If you're going to try to recreate it yourself, you might need to clear some space in your garage.
