Cricket World Cup 2015: Leading Player Stats, Individual Records and Rankings
David Warner's 178 led Australia to a record victory over Afghanistan at the 2015 Cricket World Cup on Wednesday.
The Aussies tallied 417/6 with Warner's individual prowess taking the headlines after an enthralling encounter in Perth. Mitchell Johnson (4-22) and Mitchell Starc (2-18) also enjoyed excellent showings with the ball in their hands.
Elsewhere, Pakistan beat the United Arab Emirates by 129 runs to boost their own campaign. Ahmed Shehzad's 93 did most of the work for a side who appear to be moving in the right direction as the group stages come to a close.

Warner Provides a Warning for Australia's Upcoming Opponents
David Warner's 178 was the second highest score posted at the 2015 World Cup so far, behind Chris Gayle's monstrous 215 for the West Indies against Zimbabwe.
The opening batsman remained resolute after Aaron Finch was dismissed for four early on, working quickly to reach his total from 133 balls. He took advantage of Afghanistan's loose bowling—the likes of Dalwat Zadran (2-101) and Mohammad Nabi (0-84) left the door open to all—grabbing the opportunity to set up a dominant win.
Cricket Australia highlighted Warner's achievement:
"Congrats to @davidwarner31, named Man of the Match for his 178 from 133 balls: http://t.co/bMBloWEtLq #cwc15 pic.twitter.com/YSm84MxcHA
— cricket.com.au (@CricketAus) March 4, 2015"
He averages 78 for the tournament and appears to be building steam at the right time. This looks to be well-timed for Australia, who face an improving Sri Lanka side on Sunday before rounding off their Pool A schedule against Scotland. A confident Warner can make all the difference, pushing his side's score from difficult to reach to unbeatable.
Guruge the Shining Light for United Arab Emirates
It's easy to focus on players who perform well for winning sides, but spare a thought for Manjula Guruge, who finished with figures of 4-56 during United Arab Emirates' loss to Pakistan.
Besides Guruge, only Mohammad Naveed (1-50) managed to take a wicket for the nation on Wednesday, with Amjad Javed (0-76), Krishna Chandran (0-58) and Mohammad Tauqir (0-52) allowing Pakistan to build their total unhindered.
Guruge possesses a decent economy rate of 4.57 for the tournament, the lowest of any bowler in the UAE's squad, per ESPN Cricinfo. These aren't stunning numbers, sure, but he deserves recognition for consistently marking himself as one of the team's most important members.
UAE's scores would dramatically improve if Guruge's team-mates backed him up, although the side still appear some way off capturing their first win.
