TSM Holding On
Led by Soren "Bjergsen" Bjerg and Jang-sik "Lustboy" Ham, TSM has been the most consistent team in this session. It has compiled a 9-3 record thus far, which is one game better than Counter Logic Gaming and Cloud9. Both sit at 8-4 through the session.
Bjergsen and Lustboy have been dominant through the first six weeks of action. The duo is averaging a combined 8.55 kill-death-assist ratio (K/D/A) and is routinely fighting for series MVP honors. That number doesn't always mean a player is playing better than the rest, but in this case, both TSM stars are as good as the numbers suggest.
Lately, the team has been let down by its supporting cast.
TSM has lost two of its last four matches, and that has created an opportunity for CLG and Cloud9 to close the gap. On Saturday, TSM takes on WinterFox in a match that should allow the leaders to right the ship.
The TSM squad will be tested Sunday when it faces Team 8. The latter won the previous head-to-head matchup in Week 1. That victory should provide a little confidence for the inconsistent squad. Team 8 is 6-6 and badly needs a win to obtain a better spot in the standings.
CLG in Position to Make a Move
Should TSM falter in one or both of the week's matches, CLG is in a good position to draw even or move ahead of TSM. While Saturday's match against Gravity is no cakewalk, it's a winnable affair. CLG won the Week 3 meeting easily by a score of 22-6.
Austin "Link" Shin was a man on a mission in the first meeting. He tallied 10 kills and just one death with four assists. Look for him to continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
On Sunday, CLG has this series' version of an active bye match when it faces the woeful Team Coast. The latter is 1-11 and doesn't appear to stand a chance against perennial heavyweight CLG.
TSM's recent failures have left the door wide open for CLG. Can the LoL pioneers kick it in? We'll see this weekend.
