Premier League Table: Updated 2015 EPL Standings Following Matchday 26 Results
Chelsea suffered a setback in their Premier League title ambitions after drawing 1-1 at home to Burnley, allowing Manchester City to reduce the gap at the table's summit to five points.
City trounced Newcastle United 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium to not only hone in on the league leaders, but also give their goal difference a terrific boost and close in on the Blues in that respect, too.
Manchester United also stumbled in their bid to finish among the top four following a 2-1 defeat at Swansea City, with Garry Monk's side claiming their first Premier League double against the Red Devils.

Sunday's Key Results
Southampton 0-2 Liverpool
Liverpool were clinical in taking their chances on Sunday as they leaped above Tottenham and within two points of fourth place thanks to a 2-0 victory at Southampton.
Philippe Coutinho stunned St. Mary's with a wonderful effort after just three minutes, with the Press Association's Simon Peach describing the opener as something special:
The Saints managed to stay within touching distance in the first period, but Raheem Sterling struck after 73 minutes to put the Reds' victory beyond any doubt.
As well as this being the 10th game in a row unbeaten for Brendan Rodgers' side, the official Premier League Twitter account detailed just how impressive the Merseysiders have been away from home of late:
Not only did Liverpool move into sixth as a result of their win, but the Reds are showing all the signs of a team capable of making moves back into the Champions League following their Sunday success.
Rodgers now has a task in ensuring his players keep their feet on the floor, however, lest they risk dropping the prize at stake as they did last term.
Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 West Ham United

Harry Kane left West Ham United dismayed on Sunday after striking a 96th-minute equaliser to salvage a point for Tottenham Hotspur as the north Londoners look to re-enter the top-four race.
Kane missed from the penalty spot but managed to convert the rebound and spoke to Sky Sports (h/t Goal.com's Harry Sherlock) of his relief following the scare:
"The ball bounced nicely for me and I got in front of Song and I was about to shoot and got tumbled over. Sometimes it happens for you in the last minute and I was fortunate with the penalty to get the rebound but we dug deep from 2-0 down, we stuck together and that shows our character.
"
It was a nervous penalty to take last minute but these things happen. When your luck's in, your luck's in. It managed to fall nicely for me and I put it away so I'm delighted.
The Hammers can be sorely disappointed with the result after Cheikhou Kouyate and Diafra Sakho—two figures they missed during the Africa Cup of Nations—put them 2-0 up inside 62 minutes.
Danny Rose pulled the White Hart Lane hosts back into the match with his 81st-minute strike, but West Ham boss Sam Allardyce felt his side fell victim to unsportsmanlike conduct, per the Mirror:
In the end, Spurs were luck to clinch a point from the fixture and a win would have seen the east London visitors claim their first three-point haul of January and move within two points of Spurs.
As things stand, however, Big Sam's men remain in fifth, five points away from sixth place and ruing a missed opportunity to take a key stride in their search for European football.
Saturday's Key Results
Chelsea 1-1 Burnley

Jose Mourinho will rue the chances his Chelsea side spurned against Burnley on Saturday as a late Ben Mee goal salvaged a draw for the Clarets that could come to save their season.
Sean Dyche's side travelled to Stamford Bridge hoping that the Blues' midweek draw against Paris Saint-Germain had left them low on energy, with the west Londoners struggling to build on an early lead.
Branislav Ivanovic scored his fourth goal in six games to give the Blues a 1-0 lead, but Nemanja Matic was sent off after shoving Burnley's Ashley Barnes for what he felt was a dangerous tackle.

Barnes caught the Serbian with his studs up and evoked a harsh reaction from Mourinho's midfield general, but Dyche was quoted by the Mirror's Ed Malyon as saying:
"It was a coming together. I don't think it was a malicious challenge. There was more to the game than that."
Burnley moved into 18th after claiming their point against the 10 men of Chelsea, while the west Londoners will have to settle for their second 1-1 draw in the space of five days.
Swansea City 2-1 Manchester United

Manchester United are at risk of toppling outside the top four following Saturday's 2-1 loss at the hands of Swansea City, just their second defeat of 2015.
Ander Herrera opened the scoring for Louis van Gaal's side after 28 minutes, but fell victim to complacency as Ki Sung-yueng levelled the scoring just a couple of minutes later, per the Swans' official Twitter account:
And despite United's best efforts to level the scoring, it was Bafetimbi Gomis who pitched Swansea in front on the 73-minute mark, with the visitors unable to recover.
Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News quoted Van Gaal as saying that his side "were unlucky" not to have taken more from their trip to the Liberty Stadium:
"When you think that they deserved the game you have to write it, eh? This is always frustrating when you lose and are the dominating team, so I agree that you're disappointment is much bigger because of that, so I agree.
In the first-half I think it was an equal game. I count as many chances Swansea had we had the same, there were two goals, so Swansea one and us one, so that was not a big difference but in the second-half it was a big difference. I think Swansea had a chance in the first minute of the second-half and after that we were dominating the game. We have created a chance every two minutes but we were not effective.
And then one counter, somebody's shot deviated, maybe in an offside position, I don't know, from Gomis, and it was the goal and you are not happy and you are not lucky.
"
Southampton can hump two points ahead of the Red Devils if they succeed in their clash against Liverpool on Sunday, while a win against West Ham would also see Tottenham move within a point of United.
Swansea's win sees them cement their standing in the top half, claiming just their second Premier League win in their last eight outings.
Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

First-half goals from Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud steered Arsenal to a 2-1 win at Selhurst Park on Saturday, where the Gunners never really looked like losing to their south London hosts.
With Manchester United losing at Swansea, the win allowed Arsene Wenger's men to move up to third in the table and Gunnerblog was swift to hail the efforts of Danny Welbeck after he set up goals:
Glenn Murray grabbed a 94th-minute consolation for the Eagles, but Alan Pardew's outfit remain lodged in 13th, having now failed to win any of their last three matches.
The Gunners have timed their run to form well with a Champions League round-of-16 fixture against Monaco to think about on Wednesday, looking to claim their fourth successive win across all competitions.
