Westminster Dog Show 2015 Results: Best of Breed Winners and Day 1 Recap
Move over, NBA All-Star Game. Move over, Saturday Night Live 40-year special. New York belonged to the dogs Monday night.
Hundreds of the country's most beautiful and well-trained pups gathered at The Piers 92/94 and Madison Square Garden for Day 1 of the two-day Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show to begin the process in crowning the 139th "Best in Show."
The Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding groups were on display, so let's take a look at the big—and little—winners.

Nathan, a Bloodhound, won the Hound group at least year's Westminster Dog Show. Then he took "Best in Show" at the National Dog Show in November. According to the New York Times' Richard Sandomir, he was a 10-1 favorite to win the ultimate prize this week.
An undeniable fan favorite, Nathan seemed like a lock to advance.
Well, not so fast. Miss P, a four-year-old Beagle (15-inch), shocked the world—or the doggy world, at least—to win the group. Here's a look at the victor:
Up next was the Toy group. There was plenty of potential here, from the super fluffy Pomeranian to the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. And who doesn't love a Manchester Terrier showing off her box-jumping skills, via SB Nation's Twitter feed:
Ultimately, though, the judge simply couldn't deny the Shih Tzu, who brought an uncanny impression of Scot Pollard:
The Non-Sporting group was chock-full of instant sensations. There was an adorable Bulldog, a French Bulldog whose official name was GCH Fulla Bull Soulja Boy, and there was the infamous Shiba Inu, which even drew a "doge" reference from the Kennel Club's official Twitter feed:
Doge was obviously the winner of the Internet, as is always the case, but it was the four-year-old Poodle who won over the judge:
Last on the docket was the Herding group. It's a prestigious class that features everything from the German Shepherd Dog to the Icelandic Sheepdog to the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
It's a majestic group, especially when it comes to the Corgi, but really, you aren't going to get much more majestic than this big guy:
The Old English Sheepdog took the group, beating out the Bouvier des Flandres.
Monday's four winners will return on Tuesday to compete for the esteemed "Best in Show." The victorious dogs, breeders and owners are certainly ecstatic right now, but it's only going to get more difficult.
That's because the Sporting, Working and Terrier groups will be on display, meaning favorites such as the Doberman Pinscher, German Wirehaired Pointer and Wire Fox Terrier (Wire) are all candidates to join the mix.
