Harry Kane Reportedly Scouted by Real Madrid

Rob BlanchetteFeb 9, 2015

It was always unlikely Harry Kane's sensational performances for Tottenham Hotspur would go unnoticed by the biggest clubs in world football, and now, Real Madrid reportedly have their eye on the future England star.

Tom Collomosse of the London Evening Standard says Los Blancos have visited the Premier League "three times" to watch Kane, as the 21-year-old develops into one of the most prolific strikers in the country.

Collomosse says Madrid have no immediate plan to make an offer for the player, but they have been "sufficiently impressed" to make repeat visits in their ongoing scouting of the Spurs player.

CARDIFF, WALES - AUGUST 12: Gareth Bale and Luka Modric of Real Madrid pose with the trophy following their team's 2-0 victory during the UEFA Super Cup between Real Madrid and Sevilla FC at Cardiff City Stadium on August 12, 2014 in Cardiff, Wales. (Ph

The Galacticos are very familiar with doing business with chairman Daniel Levy and the White Hart Lane club after taking both Luka Modric and Gareth Bale to the Spanish capital.

The two transfers netted Tottenham £119 million in combined fees, and Kane's potential move would swell this figure considerably.

Kane has been a superstar for Spurs this season, creating himself a goal ratio that would be the envy of any player.

The striker's 25 appearances in his team's colours have yielded no less than 20 goals this term, per WhoScored.com, and his exploits do not appear to be ending any time soon.

Kane's performances have made him the new hero for the Spurs faithful, and it seems the boy wonder has no intention of leaving the area in the near future.

When asked if he might remain with Tottenham for the rest of his career, Kane was positive in his assertions, per Collomosse:

"

I don't see why not. Tottenham are a great club on the rise. I hope we get better and I'd love to stay here for as long as possible.

If I'm still here in 10 years, I'd be over the moon. A lot of players today, when they do well, they end up going to another club or moving abroad. It depends on the situation at the time but at the moment, I'm looking to be a Tottenham player for many years.

"

Kane's comments will further please Tottenham fans who are still adjusting to life after the loss of Bale. The Welshman has covered himself in glory since departing 18 months ago, winning La Decima and scoring in the 2013-14 Champions League final.

Kane's emergence will now consign Bale to history in north London, but further exquisite performances will force Madrid and Co. to come knocking.

Sky pundit Jamie Redknapp already sees Kane as the best player in the EPL this season, calling him "my man of the year," in his Daily Mail column:

"

It's hard to spot a weakness in his game. He takes up intelligent positions like his hero Teddy Sheringham. He's got the strength to hold up the ball and hold off opponents.

He can link up with team-mates or take the ball and run with it. He can shoot with either foot, hit them from distance or from close-range and he is outstanding in the air. He takes penalties, free-kicks and he works as hard as anybody on the pitch.

"

And Kane deserves Redknapp's praise. He has been a breath of fresh air in a league dominated by big wages and huge names. The player has improved through organic means, having spent time on loan at four different lower-league clubs.

Now, he sits as his country's great new hope, following in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney as a young player good enough to carry the weight of England on his shoulders.

Madrid will be back for Kane—of that there is little doubt—but for now, Spurs can revel in the joy of having one of their own drive them up the league table and into Champions League contention.
