Daily Fantasy Basketball 2015: Best NBA DFS DraftKings Lineup for Feb. 5
Wednesday's huge scoring night is over, but we have a feeling Thursday's mere four-game slate is not going to disappoint daily fantasy basketball players. We're here to help you set your best NBA DFS DraftKings lineup for Thursday, Feb. 5.
Three of the four games have reasonably high Las Vegas totals (208.5, 208.5 and 211), per Odds Shark. There should be a lot more ways to find big fantasy performances than a usual tight slate.
PG J.J. Barea, Dallas Mavericks ($3,400)
If you're looking for a bargain at point guard, you can find efficiency in Barea's DraftKings price. The veteran was the starter Wednesday in Rajon Rondo's (face surgery) place and should be again Thursday on the back-to-back. Devin Harris ($3,900) will share the minutes coming off the bench, but we would go with the starter and cheaper of the two options here, saving money to gobble up a potential 60-fantasy-point player at another position.
- Isaiah Thomas, Phoenix Suns ($5,400)
- Darren Collison, Sacramento Kings ($6,500)
SG Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards ($6,000)
We are sticking with Beal, whose price belies the minutes he is playing of late. He has gotten 36-plus minutes in each of the past five games and has gotten 15-plus shots off in each of them. He won't be a huge fantasy scorer, but there is something to be said for the opportunities and consistency of late. We really don't love the other top options at shooting guard Thursday night. It also helps that the Charlotte Hornets are 27th at DraftKings against the position.
- Ben McLemore, Sacramento Kings ($3,900)
- Jamal Crawford, Los Angeles Clippers ($5,000)
SF LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers ($10,500)
This is a night to save up for King James, as he plays host to the star-studded Los Angeles Clippers, a team that is 28th against small forwards at DraftKings. A marquee matchup should do a lot more for James' totals than the recent walkthroughs the Cavs have played. James gets up for the big games, so we should expect a 60-fantasy-point performance. This could get biblical. Find a way to afford him...he is the cheapest he has been in 10 games, after all.
- Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers ($5,000)
- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Charlotte Hornets ($5,500)
PF Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers ($9,400)
Like James, Griffin is worth the premium in a big-name throwdown. Griffin hit 54.5 points the last time the Clippers played the Cavs and he has had a few days rest on this road trip. We are looking for a 30-point, 10-rebound and five-assist effort here. If you cannot afford both James and Griffin, go with James, but we would go with the bargains above to squeeze both big names in. This is about as affordable as Griffin comes.
- LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland Trail Blazers ($9,400)
- Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks ($6,200)
C Tyson Chandler, Dallas Mavericks ($6,400)
Not only are the Sacramento Kings going to give up points to the Mavs, but Chandler is coming off a 21-17 performance against a similarly defensively deficient Golden State team. The Kings are just 21st against centers at DraftKings, too, so the back-to-back doesn't bother us as much in a potentially open-floor game. Chandler has been rejuvenated with the Mavs, flirting with some of the best numbers of his career.
- Timofey Mozgov, Cleveland Cavaliers ($5,200)
- DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers ($7,800)
