Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
By this point, everyone in the country in one way or another knows about Jameis Winston. The outspoken player had issues on and off the field in 2014, but he is still the top quarterback prospect. CBS Sports actually has him listed as the No. 2 overall prospect in the class.
Derrick Brooks spoke about Winston being ready for the NFL spotlight, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times:
"To say that he's ready? No. He's not. He's not ready for being in this position and what this position calls for. ... He can't imagine it. He hasn't been through it. But you can plan for it. What is the last time (the Bucs) had the No. 1 overall pick? It's been awhile. So the team has to prepare with what comes with being in this position.
"
Interestingly enough, the Bucs—Brooks' former team—sit at the top of the draft board. His talent warrants a high pick, but his maturity has yet to show off the field. Teams constantly worry about red flags for players—just ask the Cleveland Browns.
Todd McShay of ESPN noted just how talented Winston can be, via Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel:
That sums up Winston as perfectly as possible. On tape and on the field, no one is denying his talent. It's his head that scouts and franchises have to worry about.
Can Winston be a true leader at the NFL level? Tampa Bay will take the risk and find out. With the weapons surrounding him, like Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans, it will be sink or swim for the Heisman-winning quarterback.
Prediction: Winston will go No. 1 to the Buccaneers—for better or worse.
DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville

Amari Cooper currently sits at the top of draft boards for teams in need of a wide receiver. However, DeVante Parker deserves to be in the discussion for the best wideouts in the 2015 class.
No, this year's crop isn't as deep as 2014's, but there is undeniable talent at the top of the class. Parker, who missed time last season with Louisville due to injury, was as dynamic as any receiver in the class. He was such a breakout player that he's now being considered at No. 12 in the first round, per John Telich of Fox 8:
After swinging and missing last year, the Browns are in need of a first-round crop that can change the complexion of the franchise. Regardless of who the quarterback is next season, Parker provides a reliable target for him to target.
With Josh Gordon now suspended for at least one year, the Browns need a playmaker to open up the field. Moving forward with Parker seems like the best option for both sides.
Prediction: Parker is second wide receiver taken by the Browns with the 12th pick.
Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
In the last several years, the running back position has been devalued in the NFL. However, there is a loaded crop of tailbacks to change that this year. Hell, a running back might even go in the first round again.
If any player can make that happen, it's Melvin Gordon. The former Wisconsin back fell just short of winning a Heisman Trophy but will join the other contenders on the first night of the draft.
There are several differing opinions of Gordon, with several viewing him as a second-round prospect. Matt Miller of Bleacher Report noted that he likes an unheralded player more than the Badgers back, via 560 WQAM:
After the NFL Scouting Combine and pro day to prove his worth, Gordon will set himself apart. Though I don't view him as a top-15 pick, he will still break the trend of tailbacks not going in the first round.
Pairing Gordon with Justin Forsett would give the Baltimore Ravens a great tandem along with Joe Flacco. Already equipped with a plethora of weapons in the passing game, Gordon would give the Ravens an extra gear.
Prediction: Gordon falls late in first round to Ravens at No. 26.
