Super Bowl Commercials 2015: Analyzing Most Entertaining Teasers
It's hardly a surprise in the modern digital age to see major companies release their full-length commercials even before their high-profile TV spots during the Super Bowl.
Ahead of Sunday's showdown between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, though, several advertisers are keeping their big-game marketing opportunities confined to teasers.
This creates more mystery to their content. It also leaves an element of surprise for viewers who don't seek out or happen to stumble upon the ads that are already out there.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
There is logic in releasing the advertisements early in terms of getting more people to view it instead of waiting for Super Bowl Sunday. The full ads that already have surfaced are somewhat analogous to sports insiders tweeting draft picks before they're officially announced, though. Just a comparison—no salt either way because to each his or her own.
Check out a few of the best teasers out there, as plenty are available to choose from, and feel free to chime in on the best that don't make the following short list.
Snickers: Super Bowl Teaser
The Snickers schtick is pretty well known by now, so some general conclusions can be drawn as to why Hollywood actor Danny Trejo appears in this teaser with The Brady Bunch theme.
Trejo seems to be acting out a female role based on the color of his hairbrush and the general attention he's paying to his aesthetic look. It isn't often that the gritty action star of Machete is overly concerned about that.
Full disclosure—the complete ad for this teaser has been released to the masses. E! Online gave it a ringing endorsement:
For non-spoiler purposes and for those accessing this footage only, readers can leave it to their Internet searching skills to see the actual ad if it is so desired.
Seeing someone as intimidating as Trejo take on such a treasured, family-friendly TV franchise is a fascinating clash of styles.
Pepsi: Halftime Touches Down

It may be the sci-fi nerd coming out of yours truly, but this teaser hints that viewers will be in for an evolved look at the halftime phenomenon.
The short clip hints at a continuation of sorts from the "There Since the First Halftime" commercial released last year that has gone viral. Although there is no suggestion that football plays a role, that just leaves more to the imagination as to what the complete advertisement will look like.
"If you want to be part of pop culture, then you have to be part of the biggest event in the country," said Pepsi marketing executive Simon Lowden, per The New York Times' Emily Steel. "If you want to be part of the conversation, you have to be there in as big a way as possible."
Pepsi managed to place its vending machine in an arid-looking desert environment, exuding an Area 51-type vibe. The vertical, rectangular structure recalls the 2001: A Space Odyssey monolith that appears at various junctures of mankind's development to spur the human race to take its next big step forward.
In that context, "Halftime Touches Down" has the chance to be an epic upgrade from the clever halftime ad of yesteryear.
What makes this trailer so unique is that it not only teases the Pepsi brand, but it also hints at what's to come during the halftime show, which the soft drink giant serves as the main sponsor for.
Combine the teaser with the massive crop circle Pepsi's powers that be ordered to be carved near University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, and it's clear Pepsi is poised to make a big Super Bowl XLIX splash.
Nationwide: Invisible Mindy Kaling
From starring on The Office to running her own sitcom on Fox called The Mindy Project, Mindy Kaling is now stepping onto the Super Bowl Sunday stage with Nationwide this year.
A string of humorous interactions and outlandish individual acts characterizes the teaser. It sees Kaling neglected as a cab client, unnoticed thieving a doughnut, sunbathing without inhibition, shamelessly gorging on a tub of ice cream and walking through an automatic car wash.
Kaling's comedic skills aren't too heavily utilized in the teaser, which is an intriguing setup to see what sort of lines she delivers in Sunday's total edition.
Another neat aspect of the trailer is that Nationwide brought on renowned film director Doug Liman to call the shots on the set. Liman's filmography includes a classic comedy in Swingers and, more recently, a Tom Cruise-Emily Blunt action vehicle, Edge of Tomorrow, which has been the genre he's leaned toward in the past.
That type of versatility and the big-city backdrops featured in Nationwide's teaser mean this Super Bowl ad could go any number of different ways.
The talent Nationwide managed to assemble is most impressive and has the makings of being a big hit as a result.
