Halftime Information

Jonathan Ringen of Billboard.com noted that Perry’s performance will be 12.5 minutes long, so expect a number of her hits that she has compiled throughout her career.

After all, Perry sold out more than 80 arenas in 2014 alone, and her Prismatic tour was the largest for any female artist for the year.

Her song “Dark Horse” was the No. 1 song in 2014 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart, while her 2010 album Teenage Dream made her the first female artist to feature five No. 1 singles on one album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Those singles were “Teenage Dream”, “E.T.”, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”, “California Gurls” and “Firework.”

Interestingly, The Associated Press reported that an anonymous source said performer and Grammy winner Missy Elliott will join Perry on stage during the halftime show. Elliott was a featured player on a remix of “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F).” Lenny Kravitz will also join Perry on stage at some point.

Perry actually offered a comment on her performance, according to Billy Johnson Jr. of Yahoo, that should interest those looking for any additional information for the various prop bets: “I’m the only person in Super Bowl history to bring a lion and sharks to the show. It’s going to be wild out here.”

As for the actual expected songs, Johnson Jr. noted that Perry will change things up from her Prismatic tour that has already included 108 show dates. Months of preparation went into this Super Bowl performance, and it is sure to feature a different feel than the large-arena concerts did.

The actual song list has not been released, but even a casual Perry fan (or anyone who has turned on a radio in the past five years) can offer a guess as to which hits she will be singing. Elliott will be there, so “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” is a virtual lock, and it is almost impossible to envision a Perry performance without a medley of hits like “Roar,” “Dark Horse” and “Firework”.

Which song is first is anyone’s guess (and would certainly be some nice information to have in Las Vegas), but fans can use deductive logic with some of the other prop bets. The commentators will almost assuredly tease the show during the first half, which means the Perry mentions in the first half will automatically be at least one.

After that, the announcers only have to mention her one more time throughout the entire first 30 minutes to reach the over, which seems like it will probably happen.

As for the wardrobe, it will be evening in February (even if it is in Arizona). Perhaps that means she will come out with warmer pants?

Or the analysis from Billy Eichner of Billy on the Street and Parks and Recreation could come true, which deserves a separate prop all on its own:

Regardless of how the prop bets unfold, Perry is sure to dazzle the crowd and television-viewing audience of more than 100 million people. She has made a career of doing so, and there is no reason to expect that to change on such a big stage.
