Player to Watch: Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots

The most important player on the field Sunday will be New England Patriots veteran quarterback Tom Brady. After leading his team to a first-round bye and home-field advantage, Brady will look to win his fourth career championship.

Brady has been red-hot this postseason. After racking up 367 yards, three touchdowns and one interception passing—as well as one rushing touchdown—against the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round, he dominated the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game.

While his numbers weren’t as impressive against Indianapolis (amassing just 226 yards, three touchdowns and one interception passing), the 45-7 final score explains why the box score looks the way it does.

Following the conference championship, Albert Breer of NFL Network shared a tweet about the company Brady will join when he starts the Super Bowl:

There may be an issue for New England though, as Brady confirmed he was suffering from an illness. He told Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, “I've had it for four to five days, my kids got sick and my wife's pretty sick right now. I brought it, unfortunately, to Phoenix, but I'll be fine. I'll be good.”

As well as Brady has played during the team’s playoff run, he will face his toughest test to date against the lights-out defense of Seattle. The team finished first against the pass (allowing just 185.6 yards per game) and third against the run (allowing 81.5 yards per game).

Add in the fact that the elite Seahawks secondary featuring cornerback Richard Sherman and safety Earl Thomas managed to shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers for just 171 passing yards in the NFC Championship Game, and Brady has his work cut out for him.

The major difference will be experience and desire. There is no denying that Seattle made it back to its second Super Bowl in a row, but Brady and the Patriots have been waiting for a long time to win another championship.

Predicted Final Score: New England 27, Seattle 24
