Chile vs. USA: Final Form Guide, Live Stream and 2015 Friendly Predictions
The United States and Chile will be hoping to get 2015 off to an ideal start when they tackle each other in a friendly contest at the Estadio El Teniente. While there is nothing tangible at stake for either side, for coaches Jorge Sampaoli and Jurgen Klinsmann, it’s an excellent opportunity to experiment with various personnel.

Sadly, the club commitments of the two nations’ high-profile talent means that we won’t see the very best players on show. But there’s a clear opportunity for those involved just below that elite bracket to make their case for a starting berth in their respective squads.

Home-Based Stars Looking To Shine for La Roja
As we can see here, courtesy of the USMNT Twitter account, this match has attracted plenty of interest despite being a friendly game:
Just 10 of the players named in Sampaoli’s 20-man La Roja squad were among the ranks at the Brazil World Cup, meaning that plenty of those involved ply their trade in local divisions. The likes of Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas have club duties to fulfil, and subsequently, the Estadio El Teniente could be the platform for some new stars to shine.
As noted here by the The Flying Wingback, it’ll be intriguing to see how some unfamiliar faces adapt to the arduous demands Sampaoli puts on his players:
The most recognisable figure in this Chile squad is former Real Betis and Liverpool winger Mark Gonzalez. Now 30 years old, the winger plies his trade for Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica and is a player who’ll be desperate to remain in Sampaoli’s plans with Chile’s hosting of the 2015 Copa America looming large.

The same applies to the USMNT, who have also picked a squad that is bristling with young talent. That includes Tottenham Hotspur right-back DeAndre Yedlin, who caught the eye at the World Cup with scintillating displays up and down the right flank for Klinsmann's side.
Nonetheless, Yedlin has struggled to get the game time needed to develop as a player since his switch to the Premier League and has admitted he’s very much looking forward to donning the national team jersey again, per Kyle McCarthy of Fox Soccer: "The first few weeks at Tottenham were a lot about getting my rustiness out, getting my fitness back, and getting my game fitness back. When I had the chance to come here, I thought it’d be a great opportunity. It’s a chance to get games, obviously. Any chance to get in with the national team is a great opportunity."

Jozy Altidore should also feature for the United States as he looks to put his Premier League nightmare firmly behind him. The rumbustious centre-forward is a player who failed to adapt to the abrasive nature of top-flight English football and will be hoping a strong showing for the national team can kick his form into gear before the regular season begins with new club Toronto FC.

Altidore and Co. should have just enough to edge a victory here. Sampaoli will surely be looking to experiment, and without the talismanic influence of some key players, the Americans should be able to exert their influence on the game with a little more purpose.
Prediction: Chile 1-2 United States
