Rodgers Hints at Gerrard Involvement Against Bolton
Tuesday, Feb. 3
Brendan Rodgers has suggested Gerrard could feature against Bolton. The captain played 120 minutes during Liverpool's recent Capital One Cup semi-final second leg defeat to Chelsea, but is now likely to be involved at the Macron Stadium.
Chris Shaw of Liverpool's official website reported Rodgers' comments:
"Yes, he's fine. He trained great this morning. I've got to look at the risk as well, and how tight his hamstring was after the game. It was 120 minutes. We measure the recovery process and look at that. If it's too much of a risk we feel, like you saw on Saturday we have got other players to come in and we can just manage that recovery process for him individually.
Then it allows him to maybe miss the game, have a bridging session—like he did yesterday and came into the session today and was outstanding, with no ill effects—and then prepares him for the game on Wednesday, if selected.

Gerrard Misses West Ham Tie With Tight Hamstring
Saturday, Jan. 31
The Reds veteran had managed to stave off injury in the 2014-15 campaign—which we know will be his last in the Premier League—but Liverpool's official Twitter feed confirmed his recent absence:
Neil Johnston of the BBC provided insight from manager Brendan Rodgers as to the nature of the injury:
The LA Galaxy-bound midfielder has maintained a level of importance at Anfield despite his impending departure from Brendan Rodgers' ranks, pitching in with goals at key moments.
Shortly after his exit for Major League Soccer was confirmed at the beginning of January, Gerrard contributed back-to-back braces in results against Leicester City and Wimbledon.

It's currently unclear just how much rest the midfielder would need, but Rodgers will be hoping to have his talismanic veteran back as soon as possible.
During Liverpool's Capital One Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea, The Kop unveiled a new banner to depict just what an essential member of their organisation Gerrard was and continues to be, per 101 Great Goals:
Former Reds midfielder Don Hutchison emphasised as much with his appraisal of Gerrard during that clash:
Without their captain present, Liverpool will be hoping to see Joe Allen make a triumphant return from his own injury, while the importance of Jordan Henderson and Lucas Leiva intensifies.
The Merseysiders currently sit at eighth in the English top flight and are hoping to hold on for a top-four finish, but losing Gerrard at such a crucial juncture may see those aspirations suffer.
