Pro Bowl Fantasy Draft 2015: TV Info and Full Player Pool for Selection Process

Chris RolingJan 20, 2015

Few games on the NFL calendar are more intriguing than the Pro Bowl

That's a serious statement, too, after the league overhauled its selection process and format last year in an attempt to capitalize on the ever-booming popularity of fantasy football.

Then again, it produced Nick Foles as MVP.

Forget that, though. The crop of players set to take Glendale, Arizona, by storm is as interesting as it gets, even if there are notable snubs such as Cincinnati's Andrew Whitworth and Chicago's Matt Forte.

The draft itself, where Cris Carter and Michael Irvin will select their teams, is an event to watch on its own. To best prepare for that, viewing info and a few major names to watch for early on in the process rest below.

Surefire Early-Round Selections and Top Performers

J.J. Watt, DE, Houston Texans

HOUSTON, TX - DECEMBER 28: J.J. Watt #99 of the Houston Texans celebrates his sack against Blake Bortles #5 of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth quarter in a NFL game on December 28, 2014 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. It was Watt's 20th sack for

Think a defender will not come off the board high because the Pro Bowl features no defense?

Think again. Houston's J.J. Watt, all 6'5" and 289 pounds of him, caught three passes on three targets for three touchdowns this season.

Rest assured that no matter which team Watt lands on, he will be a heavy fixture of the offensive attack.

Knowing Watt, he will put on a major show on the defensive side of the ball, too. He is a serious threat to steal the league's MVP award after a season in which he ranked as the No. 1 3-4 defensive end at Pro Football Focus thanks to grading out almost 70 points higher than the next player on the list. He also accumulated 44 hits, 54 hurries, 61 stops and 21 sacks.

As Pro Football on ESPN points out, Watt will also serve as one of four player captains in the desert:

Watt will see plenty of these events in future years. He's a once-in-a-generation talent. This year may be more interesting than the rest, though, with his offensive talents only beginning to bubble to the top.

If nothing else, at least enjoy quarterbacks on vacation running for their lives.

Odell Beckham Jr., WR, New York Giants

Odell Beckham Jr. is the most popular wideout in the NFL right now.

Seriously, he makes catches such as this. It's worth a closer look, per Donte Stallworth:

Beckham exploded onto the scene and needed just 12 games to record 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In 12 games.

Beckham is so special, in fact, that it only seems right that he replaces Calvin Johnson in the proceedings this year after initially being one of the biggest snubs.

Unlike some, Beckham is downright thrilled to be a part of the festivities at all, per Michael Eisen of Giants.com:

"

It is definitely awesome. It is something that means a lot to me, and I am definitely going to cherish the moment. I'm very excited to be going to the Pro Bowl.

The goal (entering the season) is to be either in the Pro Bowl or the Super Bowl. That is every year. That is something you want to be able to build on and put that on your resume. (We) didn't end up making it to the Super Bowl, but I did get the invite to the Pro Bowl, so I am very excited and blessed for the opportunity.

"

If a brief sampling as a rookie is any indication, Beckham will see plenty more of the Pro Bowl in coming years.

For now, bask in what is a human highlight reel. He will be a major part of any team's offensive game plan in the desert.

DeMarco Murray, RB, Dallas Cowboys

ARLINGTON, TX - JANUARY 04: DeMarco Murray #29 of the Dallas Cowboys celebrates after running for a touchdown against the Detroit Lions during the second half of their NFC Wild Card Playoff game at AT&T Stadium on January 4, 2015 in Arlington, Texas. (P

One of the other captains, Dallas Cowboys back DeMarco Murray finally put together a healthy season.

The first 16-game campaign of his career resulted in the Oklahoma product rushing for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns on a 4.7 per-carry average.

It is easier to mention the games in which Murray did not have a major impact, as he surpassed the 100-yard mark in all but four games in the regular season. In a loss to Green Bay in the divisional round, Murray did all he could with 123 rushing yards and a score.

Murray is an obvious talent to watch for many reasons, one of the underlying ones being his impending trip to free agency. ESPN's Ed Werder details the situation:

The Cowboys will likely need to choose between Murray and Dez Bryant this offseason, otherwise known as a good problem to have.

Murray is sure to put on a show, as well as mesh with a number of players who may or may not be his future teammates.

Last year, Murray found the end zone through the air in the fourth quarter to help his team to a win. This year, he may have even bigger things in store.
