Patriots vs. Seahawks Breakdown
The battle between New England (12-4) and Seattle (12-4) features two of the most popular franchises in the NFL going head-to-head for supremacy. While these two organizations have their share of fans, each also has a large sect of fans who can't stand them.
Regardless of how you feel about the Patriots and the Seahawks, the resulting on-field matchup should be one of the most unique in recent Super Bowl history.
The official Twitter of the Arizona Coyotes welcomed the two teams to the city of Glendale:
Country music singer Rodney Atkins also chimed in with his congratulations:
New England’s biggest strength is its offense unit. Led by Brady, the Patriots racked up 35 points against Baltimore in the divisional round and 45 points against Indianapolis in the conference championship.
Former NFL head coach Tony Dungy told Andrew Perloff of The Dan Patrick Show about how New England will attack Seattle:
When asked about playing the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork told Nancy Armour of USA Today, “We're going to have to execute (against Seattle) the way we did tonight. If we don't we'll have problems. They're defending champs for a reason, so they must be doing something right.”
Seattle’s biggest strength is its defensive unit. Not only did the team finish the regular season first against the pass (allowing 185.6 yards per game) and third against the run (allowing 81.5 yards per game), but the Seahawks also managed to shut down the Carolina Panthers in the divisional round and hold off Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game.
Both teams have played well this postseason, but New England has played stronger on both sides of the ball. With Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson turning the ball over four times against Green Bay, expect the Patriots to attack the Seahawks with everything they have defensively.
The chess match between Brady and the Seattle secondary will ultimately decide which team wins the 2015 Super Bowl, and football fans should be ready for one of the most interesting championship matchups imaginable.
Predicted Final Score: New England 27, Seattle 24
