NFL Playoffs 2015: Super Bowl Odds and Bracket Scenarios Before Divisional Round
May the odds be ever in your favor.
Yes, that is a direct line from The Hunger Games, so I'm sorry if you're offended. However, it is fitting given the way the NFL playoffs have played out so far.
Just eight teams remain in the hunt for the Super Bowl, and the odds have shifted yet again. They are not particularly in favor of teams like the Carolina Panthers or the Baltimore Ravens, but those underdog teams are the ones bettors are hoping to cash in on.

Bracket Scenarios
One of the most interesting matchups of the playoffs will take place in...well, just about every game is intriguing for one reason or another. That's the state of the NFL at this point and the parity across the league.
The game least likely to truly get fans excited is between the Seattle Seahawks and the Panthers. Carolina has played in two tight games with Seattle in the last two years, but it will have to venture over to the other coast for a chance to play in the NFC Championship Game.
While it may seem like a sure thing for the Seahawks to win, ESPN Stats & Info notes how rare it is for the defending Super Bowl champion:
If Carolina is able to pull out a win, the entire NFC picture would shift. While it may seem to favor teams like the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys, it might not actually help Dallas to host a playoff game.
The Cowboys have surged on the road this season, going 8-0, which includes a win over Seattle at CenturyLink Field. History shows that teams who finish undefeated on the road have a great chance of making the Super Bowl, per NFL on ESPN:
That's not to say that the Cowboys wouldn't want the comforts of AT&T Stadium against the Panthers, but they have proven they are comfortable against the Seahawks and playing on the road.
If the 'Boys plan on knocking off Green Bay at Lambeau Field, they'll have to take down Aaron Rodgers. The Packers quarterback has a total of 38 touchdowns and no interceptions over his last 16 games at home.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke about Dallas' effectiveness on the road, per Paul Imig of Fox Sports 1:
On the AFC side, one team that has a chance to completely upset the bracket is the Baltimore Ravens. Behind quarterback Joe Flacco, Baltimore has won five straight games in the postseason, including the Super Bowl following the 2012 season.
It may come as a shock to some, but Flacco has actually posted better statistics in the postseason since 2008 than the previously unflappable Tom Brady. The Ravens' official account points out those stats:
So for fans looking for the big upsets that would change the scenarios for multiple teams, the No. 1 seed being knocked off is the surest way for that to happen; however, the Cowboys might have two more upsets in them on the road against the Packers and the Seahawks.
Just remember, destroying things is much easier than making them. If that holds true throughout the playoffs, expect even more mayhem during the divisional round all the way to the Super Bowl.
